Hahaha oh Lux. I'm with ya there XD. Man I'd love to snag of copy of this. XG series I played a crap ton on N64 had several tunes live rent free in my head.
Stoked when I found out that the Steam version of XG-2 comes with every XG soundtrack so I snagged that, but really wish it had a cd boxset. |

My copy has the cardboard sleeve cut in two and stored inside a jewel case (yeah, no comments...).
So if I buy XG2 on Steam I get XG XG2 and XG3 sound files? Or was that a limited edition offer? I see only XG2 on Steam at the moment. |

Just double-checked and a few lines down says you still get all Extreme G soundtracks. I know XG2 shows up twice when you download. It’s only MP3 and OGG files, but still rad to get everything for 6 bucks.

Shows up as 4.5 usd to me. It's just that registering on Steam for a single purchase is meh. Maybe for Christmas you can send me the files *wink wink*
Also I recently played XG3 again on my PS2 (Japanese version this time), and I have to say it has aged far worse than the 1st and 2nd episode. Control and steering are absolutely horrible. No match from a planet's distance for, say, Wipeout Fusion. Not even the soundtrack is anything special to be honest with myself. A rushed game with random techno music from a 3rd party library. Hard to even compare it to the post-apocalyptic industrial charm of the first 2 episodes. |

I was obsessed with XG1 and only played 2 over at a friends house. I do have XG3 on GC and I remember having a good time, but now that you brought it up only XG1 tunes stick in my head. I don't remember a single track from XG3.

XG2 has some really good tracks too, a lot more experimental than the straight techno from XG1, they are quite moody and atmospheric but they fit great. I agree XG1 has a very good soundtrack despite being simple and not very original.
For me, the best track of all these Probe/Acclaim games is the main menu, I wonder if the same composer is behind all of them. Extreme-G menu Extreme-G 2 menu Forsaken menu Extreme-G 3 menu I know Forsaken was composed by "The Swarm", but I wonder if they did the menu too, since I recall the track is absent from the album? |
