Expected remixes plus some new material.

Not long not long not long...! Might even get a rip request in at ffshrine, like... now, in advance.

Placing bets now: in the first video, Hirokazu Ando is a dead certainty (first couple of songs.) I think I hear Shogo Sakai too (that arrangement at 1:38 sounds like him, as does the Dynablade one after, but not sure.) I think I hear some Ishikawa too (the chippy sounding thing) but I'm not positive. Would be great if all three were involved in any case Looking at the sound test at 3:34, there doesn't appear to be any visual indication of song composers (as was the case with Triple Deluxe) but I could be missing something. Hope HAL do that again, would be a bit daft if they didn't.

Second video doesn't reveal too much new that hasn't been in other vids, at least musically. As an aside I don't like the amiibo concept, bloody typical of Nintendo and their penchant for milking it with tacky peripherals.

Everything in the first Japanese trailer either I'm sure is Sakai or I think is within the realm of possibility for Sakai to have done, so I'm going to put my chips on solo Sakai for another Kirby side game.

Lunar is always right, though.

Well, I was 99% right with Triple Deluxe, the only guess that I got wrong was the Disc Preview song *frown*. Sooo, reasonably confident with HAL music, at least as far as it involves Sakai/Ando/Ishikawa. Nonetheless, a guess is a guess and I'm ok being wrong.

Been doing some searching and found some other videos worth a look.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ta5jDCyezXc includes Mini Boss theme, hadn't heard before
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BD_NLEi_zKU main theme isolated
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_QrlwnHbkc intro, hadn't seen/heard before
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSqVG3rsmIY menu theme
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmaWjR8PEdk old video with nothing not already in other videos, but better quality
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6zX_Rav0T0 & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTqJQP-FAlU probably the most interesting. looks like a guy got an advance copy. the level music in the second video is the Sakai-est so I'm definitely sticking with the assumption of his major involvement.

Yeah, or not so there you go, I can be wrong! The melodica and "flute keyboard" use is what threw me off ~ I guess Sakai borrowed them for a bit. But not at all surprised at Sakai being the lead. Still hoping there'll be composer clarification of some kind, we'll have to wait and see huh.

Also raises the question of where the other two are. Maybe this game was in production at the same time as Triple Deluxe and they were focusing on that... or are otherwise wound up with some other secret project. Love Sakai anyway though so I'm pleased.

Amazing how quickly this stuff finds its way to youtube, btw. In English, no less.

The first song I didn't really have a strong feeling about, but the piano accompaniment in the first twenty seconds specifically struck me as more Sakai than Ando. In general the piano parts in Rainbow Curse seem simpler and less humanized than Ando's recent showboating, but that one phrase in particular didn't sound to me like anything Ando would write. I think it's the four note descent at the end especially. Am I off base there?

As for the second song, the guitars just made me chuck it into the Sakai Oldie Rock Barrel with the others. :V

Yep, in hindsight nothing really strikes me as sounding like Ando. I certainly didn't hear anything that was unmistakable. I should have waited until I heard more music first, but no matter

I agree yeah. Ando's arrangements have a lot of flourish and strange harmonic movements... simple isn't usually in his vocabulary. He sounds much wackier to me than Sakai does, more keyboardy and distinctly jazz sounding, as well as his use of strange dissonances and noisy sounds - less conventional in general.

Boss theme here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSbAZb_SZiY synth solos remind me of a little something from Smash Bros Brawl

EDIT: sound test video has landed.

I had a dream last night where all Kirby composition credits were revealed. The explanation was accompanied by charts and diagrams. Complicated geometric figures were involved. The whole thing was quite shocking.
