So he's either Hideyuki Shima or Takahiro Matsuki.

Shijima went to Berklee and plays bass. Shima went to Berklee and plays bass, while Matsuki doesn't seem to have gone on to post-secondary education and plays brass instruments.

Then Shijima = Shima confirmed by Shima's SoundCloud account, which lists a bunch of Shijima works.
