Can three games' soundtracks feasibly fit onto a single cassette? The price seems to indicate a single tape.
Also, this is a missed opportunity to use each different turtle artwork for each media release. |

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassette_tape Tapes can actually go up to 60 min per side, but that is unusual as I never saw anything beyond 45 min per side growing up when buying blank tapes - the go to was always 90 total. I've NEVER seen a 120 min in my life (retail or blank) although I do believe there was a quality (?) trade off for getting the extra minutes. I can't help but remember being told that the tape ribbon was even thinner on 120 min cassettes which made them more prone to being eaten by the player, but again that's what I remember being told and I have no personal experience that that is so. By comparison, I have come across the extra long CD's. One of Nightwish's later CDs is longer than normal then there is Final Fantasy IX: Uematsu's Best OST by Toyko Pop. Edit: (from the link) Tape length usually is measured in minutes of total playing time. Many of the varieties of blank tape were C60 (30 minutes per side), C90 (45 minutes per side) and C120 (60 minutes per side).[1] The C46 and C60 lengths typically are 15 to 16 micrometers (0.59 to 0.63 mils) thick, but C90s are 10 to 11 μm (0.39 to 0.43 mils)[101] and (the less common) C120s are just 6 μm (0.24 mils) thick,[102] rendering them more susceptible to stretching or breakage. Even C180 tapes were available at one point.[103] Edit Edit: Oh wow, the CD is 2 as well. Last edited by Brad Evans II; Apr 6, 2024 at 12:28 PM. |

Assuming LRG is using the compressed audio from the cowabunga collection game release again, the total length for all three soundtracks is 89mins 55sec. Snug, but fits on a C90.
Genesis/Mega Drive: 22 tracks, 36:25 SNES: 38 tracks, 39:30 NES: 25 tracks, 14:00 |
