I'm thinking 伊藤博之 could possibly be the real name of Pirowo, because ぴろ = 博. I have absolutely no proof of this of course, and I couldn't find any references to 伊藤博之 or Hiroyuki/Hiroshi Ito in any other Video System games.

You were onto something. Pirowo left a message in Sega's 18 Wheeler. It looks like he and several other people from Video System went to work for a company called IXI. He's not credited as Pirowo on any of those games, but he is credited as "Hiroyuki-PRW-Itou" on King of Route 66.
