Does anyone have guesses on who arranged each new track for the Booster Course Pass?

With like 15 people responsible and half of them being relatively unknown, most of it is a total shot in the dark. I feel like Nagamatsu's are the only really obvious ones ("Ninja Hideaway", "Sky High Sundae", "Athens Dash", "Los Angeles Laps"). I also think "Singapore Speedway" is a safe bet for Sudo, and "Squeaky Clean Sprint" feels like a Matsuoka composition to me. Would be cool to get a soundtrack release for this one, I want to put some music to Torii and Honda's names... that duo has been pretty impressive so far in my opinion.

And for the original MKT Los Angeles Laps, I also completely agree, this sounds A LOT like him (again, the weird vocals and also the general arrangement of the song). The BCP version though... It kinda losts its Nagamatsu-vibe... I honestly think anybody in the music composers list for the BCP could have arranged it. I also agree on both MKT and BCP versions of Singapore Speedway sounding like Sudo. I'd also attribute him the MKT version of Vancouver Velocity (I'm not so sure about the BCP version of it though), especially after listening to some of his work on both NES Remix games and Splatoon 3. For Squeaky Clean Sprint, with Matsuoka having most likely composed the music for Bowser's Fury, it could see him having composed this one! Sky-High Sundae and Athens Dash and highly debatable for me. It seems they use music instruments banks sometimes used by Nagamatsu but I struggle to recognize anything Nagamatsu-like in these... And Sky-High Sundae's general "crazy" vibe, its drums and its general arrangement style make me think more of Asuka Hayazaki but I may be on a completely wrong track here lol. Also, it's worth what it's worth but I feel the BCP version of DS Mario Circuit sounds like an Atsuko Asahi arrangement and I feel the BCP version of N64 Kalimari Desert sounds like a Yasuaki Iwata arrangement but that's just based on general arrangements styles. |

I like your thoughts here a lot, I agree that the new arrangement of Los Angeles Laps is quite different from the original and probably arranged by somebody different. Same thing with Merry Mountain (but I haven't a clue who would've done either version). The main one to back up my Athens Dash prediction is Tri Force Heroes' main theme, which bears a few compositional similarities. Of course, it might be that the composer was taking direct inspiration, or it could just be coincidental writing.
Mushroom Gorge is a weird one since it seems to use most of the original instrumentation, with some adjustment to the guitars, so I'd guess Nagamatsu did the re-arrangement. His other returning tracks, though, feel like someone else to me. Maple Treeway and Moonview Highway seem to interpret the tracks a bit differently from the originals. Someone dug up a few tracks by the unknowns as well, so I'll link that forum post here in case anyone stumbles on it and is interested. Usui is probably my highlight, his orchestral stuff is great. I'm gonna see if I can find any connections with his Tears of the Kingdom music. |

So Nagata was most likely the sound and/or music director/lead/supervisor for MK Tour (as he was for MK7, MK8 (Deluxe), and MH Live Home Circuit), but we technically don't know officially if he composed any music at all for the game, and we don't have a full listing of all people who worked on the game (including composers). My guess is that he composed at least a few music for it such as Tokyo Blur (the veeeery obvious one), London Loop and mayyybe Piranha Plant Pipeline and some menu music. |
