I feel I should explain the composer Horikoshi and licensor Horikoshi being the same person when there's so many years between the different jobs. The ones you can obviously see are that they have the same name and both have a Sammy history. On the one hand, there have been times composers have promoted to positions other than music, but also times different people with the same name have worked at the same company.

What helped me convince was some further patent history cal found. Most of his patents were between 1999 and 2004, so would end around the same time SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS was established, but then there's another patent found in 2016 with Sammy, and it's still to do with sound.
