The front of the album says that it's inspired by the "best selling series," which sounds a lot more like the series of books and not the game that was based on them. Found several sites that confirm my suspicion that this album is for the books and not the game. This would be why the album wasn't marketed as a game soundtrack.

That said, Bob Berry and Lief Sorbye, two of the composers for this album, are listed under Music Composition in the game's credits. The game precedes the album by two years, so it is possible that some or all of the music on this album was first written for the game.
