Is it just me or did they actually cut out a third of the song Tragic Decision? I could have sworn there was a good bit more to it than the paltry 2 minutes and 10 or so seconds of audio on the CD, and it certainly didn't sound like it had looped properly yet.
I really don't get why they would give us the full version of something like, say, Creeping Shadows, which is mostly just the same sort of sinister tones for three minutes, and cut out a portion of a upbeat track like Tragic Decision. |

There is a full ver. (ripped from the game) on YT.

Thanks for the info. So they indeed didn't include the full version. Well, at least that solves that. A real shame though, Tragic Decision is easily one of my favourite tracks from the game after hearing it in context during a certain game changing scene, and after hearing the full version I simply can't understand why they would cut out what amounts to 35 or so more seconds to conclude the song.
Oh well, no point crying over spilt milk. |

Question for those of you who bought the CD:
I ripped my copy with Exact Audio Copy and am using AccurateRip. My discs 1 & 2 verified with confidence 3. However, my discs 3 & 4 are "wrong" with a confidence of 9, for every single track! If all 4 discs were off, I may have shrugged this off, but I find it strange that half my CDs are consistent with other peoples' while the other half of my CDs are different. Anyone willing to share their AccurateRip results? (Also, how are you supposed to put discs 2 & 3 back into the case after you take them out? I've never seen these 3 fat plastic holders before, why couldn't they manufacture a normal jewel case holder like behind discs 1 & 4?) |

I can't confirm this. The four logfiles are attached.

All of your track CRCs are different from mine... It's also strange because of ARv1 vs. ARv2. The correct(?) CRC's for discs 1 and 2 are apparently different between ARv1 and ARv2, but for discs 3 and 4 my logs and your logs claim that the correct(?) CRC is the same regardless of the AccurateRip version! So does that mean AccurateRip is wrong for discs 3 and 4?
I've attached my logs. Last edited by TopRanker; May 9, 2014 at 01:17 PM. |

Too bad the bonus for the 3DS version is just a reprint of the Xenoblade Special Sound Track that came with the Wii version. An arrangement CD would have been nice.

Out of curiosity, why was the English (Literal) tab deleted? It's a tab I've seen on loads of other album pages, so I'm not sure why the staff would get rid of it here. I personally don't care too much, but I know there is a segment of the fandom still attached to the old literal translated track titles such as "One Who Gets in Our Way," "Satorl, Shimmering Marsh," "While I Think..." etc.

because I deleted my tracklist, no interest to keep it
and I prefer my Xanthe (starting with a X) over Zanza (sounds like vomit or something) edit: but I could submit it on my blog if really wanted Last edited by Phonograph; Apr 19, 2015 at 03:31 PM. |

FWIW, I only changed Xanthe to Zanza because several people (who know Japanese) on the Xenoblade GameFAQs forum said Xanthe wasn't accurate. |

So it was bugging me that there's no English (Literal) tab for this playlist, so I went ahead and made one myself, using most of the old names. I put it down as "Anonymous" since I'm not technically speaking the translator, and it sounds like you, Phonograph, wanted to distance yourself from this one. I hope it's alright I did this.

My edit of Platform represented (Nintendo 3DS) was rejected. Got a message telling me to give more evidence here. Just made an account and new to this soooo... I don't know how to present evidence other than the obvious state of the game's release on New Nintendo 3DS.

Platform represented is for the platform at the time of the album's release. When this one was released where wasn't any 3DS port, hence 3DS doesn't belong there.

Ok, thanks! That makes sense, I just assumed since the tracklist was edited to include the localization track names from the 3DS port, it was considered a represented platform. Thanks again.

Tracklists can be adjusted at a later date as well as the "other" album title lines (localized game titles for example), that's platform independent.

They announced Xenoblade 2 for the Switch and (Yasunori) Mitsuda is in charge of music direction and stuff. (Dunno where to put this)

My prayers have been answered. Since Mitsuda is top billing, he'll contribute more than just an ending theme. We can already pick out something wonderful and beautiful from the trailer:

I have a sinking feeling ACE and Kiyota will do 95% of the score, just like the first game. Don't forget that Shimomura had top billing too, and look how that turned out (main theme and a few primary themes only). |

Mitsuda has been pretty busy recently so I doubt his contribution will be large. Shimomura was obviously too busy to contribute anything this time.

Same feelings here, especially with respect to Manami Kiyota. I wish she would do more composing in the videogame area. At some point I really need to check out her solo albums.

ACE+ is... all over the place. That first BGM in the trailer is clearly one of its composers work, and it's really lame. Got that "I want to be like film music" vibe all over it. They had a lot of that in XB1. On the other hand, if whoever did Mechonis Field and Gaur Plains does more, it could turn out well. I have faith that Mitsuda will do more than just replace Shimomura's scant presence on XB1.

On the other hand, what I'm far more surprised about is what you said about Manami Kiyota - most of her beautiful pieces were my favorite songs from the game! I'm not saying this as a way of putting down your opinion or anything like that, I'm genuinely curious: If this is amateurish, then I would love to hear some stuff much better than this. I'm still relatively new to VGM so I totally would be interested if there are better OSTs out there (right now this is hands down my favorite). ..Also, does anyone have any idea why Kenji Hiramatsu is seperate from ACE in the credits of the trailer? Are they not ACE+ anymore or something? EDIT: Just read on Hiramatsu's Facebook that the reason for the change in credits has to do with the fact that he's the one in charge of the music this time around. Sweet! "Galahad Fortress" is my favorite Kiyota piece and what I consider to be the most underrated track in the game.

-Elysium of the Blue Sky (Yasunori Mitsuda) -Action Battle (ACE: Tomori Kudo, CHiCO) -Action Start (Kenji Hiramatsu) -Spirit Crucible Elpys (Manami Kiyota) |
