Here it is the image album for the famous shojo manga "Kaze to Ki no Uta" (category: yaoi), composed by Seiji Yokoyama.
This is certainly the most important and best image album done by Seiji Yokoyama in 80's, with his other gem "Isaron Densetsu". This album was never released in CD, unfortunately. Scats are done as always, by "Yokoyama's voice": Kazuko Kawashima (one scat on track 01, and two scats on track 05 (side 1)). There's too a mini drama of 30 seconds at beginning of track 05, performed by Nachi Nozawa (as character "Serjio"). On the side 2 (track 06) of this album, there's a concert for piano and violins, always composed by Seiji Yokoyama, for a duration of 20 minutes. I want to say some special thanks to Gérald Ory, expert of Seiji Yokoyama, for all these informations about this album and the names of the artists (they come from his old website, www.megagg.free.fr. Sorry his site is no still available, but I had copied his precious informations on my computer, fortunately). I repeat that these informations are totally reliable, Gérald Ory speaks perfectly Japanese. The tracklist in romanji comes from him, and we find the same on Nautiljon.com (see my links on the album page please). For the Japanese tracklist, I copied it on the website www.fanfan1.com. For my English tracklist, I have used Microsoft Translator, a dictionary English/Japanese on the web too, and my little knowledges in Romaji (I know well the particles "no" and "to"), and the translation is not very difficult for this album, i think. Tell me please if I've done some mistake Last edited by SaintSquall; Apr 21, 2015 at 03:51 PM. |

The site is still available here btw: http://web.archive.org/web/200802061...ki_no_uta.html
But still, never trust already romanized artists from a fansite, for example here the pianist name was wrong. You should always look for the credits in kanji and find a source for the romanization, or just leave the name in kanji if you're not sure. Also removed the "Image Album" from the title since I can't see it anywhere, and the english title. Since it's the name of a product and was never licensed in English (at least as far as I can tell), it shouldn't be translated. |

Well, I put the title in English because I've seen that it was displayed for the CD "Kaze to Ki no Uta Gilbert Requiem". But you have changed the title of this CD too.
Ok you don't see in the title "Image album", but this CD is really an image album meanwhile: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaze_to_Ki_no_Uta And Gérald Ory is not just a simple fanboy Illidan, do you know that he's gone several times in Japan and went many times into Seiji Yokoyama's home? Seiji Yokoyama is his friend now, and they worked together for the CD "Ragen Blue". Seriously, I'm not sure that there's a person in the world (outside Japan, and yet...) who have more knowledge about the music of Seiji Yokoyama! He's speaking very well Japanese, so I'm really surprised that he had some mistakes. But that is great, you found his old site in archive.org. That was and that is always the reference on the web for the Seiji Yokoyama's music, in my opinion. By the way, you have changed too the title of the track 05, and deleted "Roudoku: Nozawa Nachi" at the end but it is written on the tracklist on fanfan1.com: http://www.fanfan1.com/products/detail/757550 (use translator and you'll see) and on the Gérald Ory's review in Romaji. And too, I see it well on the slipcase back too (on my photo). Last edited by SaintSquall; Apr 22, 2015 at 12:05 AM. |

I'm not sure if "朗読" is part of the track name, but " / 野沢那智" definitely shouldn't be there. Last edited by Illidan; Apr 22, 2015 at 12:22 AM. |

And I do some verifications generally, but maybe not for the pianist name this time. Well, I think that I will be more vigilant in the future. I'm OK with your other answers. |

If you want to be extra sure scans/JASRAC for credits, and official sites/English credits on official releases for romanizations.
You can use other sources obviously (anison is great for vocal song credits, wikipedia jp usually has correct readings for common artists, and so on), but always remember to check their accuracy. Oh and don't take it the wrong way, the entries are great, I'm just explaining the changes |

On the web? Essentially none, the verifiable source should be the album/game/TV/movie staff listing itself respectively, and at best an official website (or otherwise official publication) can be an extension of that.

@Datschge: OK but we need (well, I need ) internet for romanization too, because in the Japanese booklets, it's always (or often) written in kanjis. |

No, we especially need verified Romanizations. Kanjis very often have different ways of pronunciation depending on context and name, and the resulting Romanji often matches with several different Kanji, so at that point it can get very hard to verify anything. So if you want to create a confusing unverifiable mess for yourself and others go with Romanji, if you want to avoid that stick with the Kanjis wherever possible.
