It is hasty and reckless to cancel something before even knowing all the facts. In this case, over one month has passed since the arrest was announced. In Japan, you can be detained for a maximum of 23 days without being charged. Despite the arrest making national news, there have been no reports of any charges being filed. It may be presumed, then, that the charges were dropped. No public statements have been made.
If that turns out to be the case, then what was the point of cancelling this release?
