I'm wondering is the whole soundtrack going to be piano or will it have other types of music as well

You can listen to the Staff Roll in this clip - piano and vocals.

I have watched a bit of the playthroughs and it seems that during the battle sequeneces the piano is backed up by percussion.

Watching more the piano fits perfect to the gameplay - battle musical transitions are fantastic.

I suggest to change the classification into "Piano Bar" or "Romantic Dinner with Your Girlfriend" ;p

seriously, it's music for a video game?
except some tracks (and tr2.34 that isn't piano but rather 8bits or something) the rest sounds like boring piano music

If it fits the wintery mood of the game, why should it be an issue? It's definitely an interesting direction, even if it's probably not appropriate for listening outside of the game.

Looks like the composer borrowed inspiration from FF Piano Collections.

102 bears a strikingly similar melody and structure to both あの夏へ (One Summer's Day) and 6番目の駅 (The Sixth Station) from Spirited Away... hmm...

1.19 sounds like it began life as an arrangement of the Final Fantasy victory theme.

EDIT: 1.23 just straight-up contains the melody of FFIX's You're Not Alone. Did Uematsu really not receive credit on this album?

Similar, but not the same. Why would we credit Uematsu for something he didn't compose?

Clearly I must hear a greater level of similarity here than you do, so I don't know what information your question is seeking. Obviously I don't want to credit Uematsu for music he didn't compose. I'm just surprised that he wasn't credited on the album, as this is a Square-Enix game so it's not outside the realm of possibility that they wanted to incorporate a few around-the-corner takes on Final Fantasy pieces.

Sorry, I guess.

The import is being sold by Square Enix on their North America store. Just a heads up.

I've always thought "You're Not Alone!" sounds kinda similar to something else I know but couldn't put my finger on it. Before reading this thread, I happened to be reading the thread about the Kirby concert album and video and consequently started whistling "The Great Gourmet Race" and realized that was it! Or at least one of the things it sounds like. I feel like there may still be one or two more pieces of music "You're Not Alone!" has a similar melody to in the places that aren't like the Kirby track.

The thing I always think of is that the start of the electric guitar melody (1:08-1:15) in You're Not Alone is similar to Ice Cap Zone from Sonic 3 with a few extra notes in the middle.

Obviously, this release of the "I am Setsuna" soundtrack has 2 CDs with 71 tracks total on them.

The Bandcamp release (https://vgmdb.net/album/60327) has 27 tracks available in it.

So, is this 2-CD release the full soundtrack of the game and the Bandcamp release just a collection of selected tracks?
