He left Koei Tecmo today: https://twitter.com/Boundnotes/statu...76811268255744

Is there anyone left on the Gust sound team now?

Edit: He also revealed that his alias is u.z. - https://vgmdb.net/artist/27450

Akira Tsuchiya is still in Gust but who knows if he's actually composing any more; he didn't write anything for the latest game he produced. Seems like Gust is content to rely on composers from other divisions in Koei Tecmo and outsiders to supplant their music team instead of hiring new people.

Maybe if a third Surge Concerto game ever comes out (apparently it's confirmed it was started on), we'll see more Tsuchiya tunes.

I guess I meant to ask if there were any composers left. It's strange to see that the Gust Sound Team has completely disappeared in just five years.

Tsuchiya is more of a producer these days (on Facebook he lists his job title as manager). Even for the Surge series the majority of the songs were handled by other composers. Coincidentally, he's been with Gust for 20 years as of today.

I saw an interview with Tsuchiya where he said most of the people at Gust are 30+ years old, so it doesn't seem like they're hiring very many newcomers in general. I don't know if that means they're not really hiring anyone at ALL or just focusing on recruiting more experienced folks.

Or maybe corporate just wants a more centralized sound team! No idea.
