Does anyone know when/why she started using Lisa? My only guess is that it's something she uses for overseas ventures. Considering she speaks a handful of European languages that seems a likely possibility...

I'm no Japanese language scholar, but I think Risa was used mainly because of mistranslations. I'm glad this site is one of the few to take the trend of using Lisa Ooki.

理紗->りさ->Risa. Lisa is no Japanese name, let's face it. Both are pronounced in essentially the same way though, with a strong emphasis on a the i, hence my original assumption.

VGMdb policy is that we employ whatever artists officially call themselves as the display name, regardless of nonstandard spelling and capitalization.

I'm actually not contesting the default naming as much I'm wondering why she would use that romanization. As, at least when it comes to vgm, she has (as far as I know) always been referred to as either Risa Ohki (e.g, on Pray, Love Will Grow and La Romance) or Risa Oki (the two Genso Suikoden albums)...

That was an explanation for Chris, actually. Also, I guess "westernized" name romanizations are just a cool and trendy thing, like Haruko Momoi using "Halko Momoi" and Miko Yada using "Mico Yada".

So, supposedly "Ririko Yamabuki" is an alias for her. Why is there an actual composition credit for her on Pray and Love Will Grow?

Some of the arrangements have new material, either a new section that comes after Uematsu's original versions, or replaces it. Like how "Voyage"/"The Boundless Ocean" has a totally different B section.
