Why was the "AKINO with bless4" variation removed? It's used here: http://vgmdb.net/db/covers.php?do=view&cover=140771

The reason for the Variations field is to remove the text "Performer (as AKINO with bless4)" from the discography list, and hence the alias list. This is so that you don't have to display differences like "Sato" and "Satou" all over the discography. People have been adding unlisted aliases in there too, which is fine, but we should remove them once they have a credited album.

The thing here, is that AKINO is linked as just "AKINO" from the album I linked in the first post, so it doesn't show up as "AKINO with bless4" in the discography, even though it should have, if it was properly linked as "AKINO with bless4", since it's not in the variations list anymore.

Bottom line, she should be re-linked as "AKINO with bless4" from this album and the variation should be added again.

Oh, this is an issue of From vs With. The change doesn't show up in our poor inline diff code. Is bless4 some kind of backup vocals group? Maybe it should be linked separately from Akino.

Yeah, I was a bit unsure if the variation was really added, but I could verify it from this Google cache (hopefully it hasn't been re-cached after this post). I don't think bless4 is a special type of unit, but I think maybe she should indeed be linked separately in this case.

AKINO provides the main vocals for the song while bless4 provides background vocals and chorus for the song.

I was thinking that it would make more sense to list them seperately.

Yeah, I would link them separately. Since bless4 is a group, "AKINO with bless4" is clearly a lump credit for AKINO and the group and not just AKINO.

Honestly, since AKINO is part of bless4, I don't really see a point in linking "AKINO from bless4" as an alias/variation either. We don't have "Noriyasu Agematsu (Elements Garden)" as a variation for Agematsu, and I don't see why this should be any different simply because it's phrased differently. The suffix field was intended for things like "from bless4."

I think this is an interesting problem to tackle. Maybe we could implement

1. Explicit credit ordering
2. Custom delimiters (for example, put "with" or "feat" to override the default comma after a credit)
