Does anyone know anything more about Tomoko Morita?
I know she's a Neverland employee as evidenced by in-game credits, and I think it's likely she worked on titles prior to 2005's Shining Force Neo. Seems she's been the sole/lead composer attached to the Rune Factory series. |

She worked as the sound effect designer of Shiren the Wanderer Gaiden (Asuka) which released in 2002.

Just discovered this composer. SHE IS AMAZING.
Today was the first time I ever heard her name, so I'm guessing she isn't very popular...? =( |

I wonder what she'll be doing now that Rune Factory is seemingly no more (the developer went bankrupt).

Marvelous is working on Kinki no Maguna (Forbidden Magna) for 3DS with some former Rune Factory series/Neverland staff. Morita may or may not be part of that.

Hmm, I see she retweeted the announcement so perhaps she is.

Morita is part of Keiichi Sugiyama's STUDIO QAREEB, so watch their projects for her involvement. She's already worked on Sol Trigger and Demon Tribe at least.

Sounds like Neverland fell apart much earlier than I thought (there are only three months between the releases of Rune Factory 4 and Sol Trigger).

I dunno about other Neverland staff, but Morita was already a freelancer before Rune Factory 4 came out. She left Neverland at the end of 2011, freelanced in 2012, and joined QAREEB at the start of 2013.
(Employment dates from Facebook. Maybe worth noting that Sol Trigger came out in 2012, but she's credited in the game as part of QAREEB even though she apparently wasn't an employee yet.) Last edited by CHz; Apr 11, 2014 at 02:30 PM. |

Rune Factory 4 had a slimmed down Neverland staff compared to previous entries, with one dude (Shinichi Manabe, confirmed to be not on Kinki no Maguna) taking on nearly all roles aside art and music. Guess Neverland was on its last leg then already.
Btw. it is pretty common for freelancers to be credited as part of a company if they worked through that company and not directly with the main developer/publisher. |

Archiving her works list from Facebook, I think this was gone for a while (although maybe just hidden/inaccessible for Facebook reasons)
