Lime Odyssey (Yasunori Mitsuda)
Many of you are already aware of Mitsuda's involvement in the upcoming MMORPG Lime Odyssey. If you follow that link, you'll be able to hear the main theme performed by live orchestra.
Here's a video of character creation in the game. It features two wonderful pieces of music: the first is a live piano performance of the main theme; the second a delightful orchestral piece performed live. One interesting thing to note is that the first track, the piano piece, is an arranged version of the main theme. And I don't just mean a transcription--rather a fully formed and sincere arrangement. The arrangement style itself doesn't sound at all like Mitsuda's work, but is extremely effective nonetheless. Anyway, I wonder how much of the LO OST will be performed live? I love what I'm hearing so far.

Yeah, I'm absolutely loving the music thus far as well. I'm also curious as to the amount of music that is going to be performed live. Fortunately, when I met Mitsuda in Germany earlier in September, I asked if this would be getting an OST release and he told me yes. I had to ask, given the lack of OSTs from recent games he's contributed to.

This is definitely my kind of music, I'm loving it. I like the piano music in the video too. Good to hear that there will be an official OST coming out. Can't wait.
Edit: I'll probably post similar threads like this since there's some other great music from these online games that I am recently discovering.

What is "the box" that people are supposed to think outside of anyway? Hmm. Maybe it's similar to the Borg from Star Trek who dwelled as a collective hive-mind within a...box/cube. Those that deviated from this hive-mind would, in effect, be thinking outside of the box. it has both a figurative and a literal meaning. Last edited by KeyLogic; Mar 17, 2010 at 06:22 PM. |
