Maybe Naomi Yamamoto is also the Nao Chan credited on SDI? That game came out 3 years before Hataya joined Sega, so I highly doubt it's him, unless he had some trainee job at Sega before full time employment, which I doubt.

I definitely think that's likely. I'm surprised I never mentioned that in the N.Y thread!
It's made more confusing by Hataya being credited as NAO CHAN in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. He hasn't often confirmed he worked on it, I only know of 1 tweet.
