I don't think Matt Uelman was a composer here, but he was apparently sound designer.

Can someone get info on what the other composers beside Glenn Stafford did or if their work is on this album at all? They're listed at iTunes Store as the album artists but not in the actual tags, neither as artist nor composer.

There's an interview about this somewhere on the 'net. Stafford did the Terrans; Derek Duke did the Zerg; Jason Hayes did the Protoss. Stafford also wrote the music used in the Brood War ending cinematic.

Odd that the iTunes tags doesn't specify this. Thanks for the info, I'll google around.

There's one interview, and although it doesn't specify Stafford's or Duke's role, it does talk about Hayes on Protoss and Stafford on the Brood War aria. I can't remember where I read about the Terrans and Zerg, but I'm sure it's right.

This interview was also the first time I discovered that the original WarCraft soundtrack was done by a freelancer, Gregory Alper!

Shack: So after Diablo, you did some work on StarCraft. What were you involved in there?

Matt Uelmen: I did very little work for StarCraft. They were actually very generous to give me the credit they did. I did mainly a dozen or so unit noises.

Shack: Any specific sounds you can name off the top of your head?

Matt Uelmen: You know, I really couldn't, because I just never went back and played the game enough to really know. It's actually really funny--even though I have a credit on StarCraft, the RTS series I really like is the Total War series. I kind of felt like that hadn't really been done right until the first... the Japan one. What was it called, Samurai?

So no definite composer breakdown then? Bummer.

Thumbs up

Hey ggfh,

I'd be willing to sell my "like new" copy of StarCraft for say 250$ (not including shipping). If you want it just drop me a line ...

Of course if you'd like to buy a new copy for $10 then you should checkout this page as soon as possible:

Have fun!

BTW this is extraordinary news!
Hopefully Mosaic and other rare soundtracks will become available as well!
