The entry might be a little too early since we do not have any release date for the game yet.

Blizzard announced the soundtrack will be available in the collector's edition of the game.
The disc will feature "only" 14 tracks.

Well, if the entry is going to stay for now, the composer field should include:

Glenn Stafford
Derek Duke
Russell Brower
Neal Acree

Quote:
Brower: Well, we had a really awesome series of recording sessions for StarCraft II... ...It was the right group and the right room and the right music and the right set of composers. It was myself, Glenn Stafford, Derek Duke, and Neal Acree all contributing to the score.

Release date is now July 27 (if we can trust Blizzard...)

Looks like there'll be bonus tracks in addition to the 14 tracks.

I actually went with the standard edition and am starting to regret it after hearing some of the music on youtube. Each race sounds exactly the way it should, and I'm especially enamored with the Terran tracks. Beats the pants off WC3, that's for sure.

Question

So what about music in bar jukebox? Song like "White Boy Jack & The Blues Express - A Zerg, A Shotgun, and You" and other. Is it possible to rip or something else?

Thought (and tweeted) about that today actually. That song is terribly addictive and hilarious, they better release it in SOME form.

Haven't finished listening to the soundtrack yet, but everything I've heard is fantastic. I really like the western vibes present in the Terran tracks. Brings back very fond memories of Firefly. Can't wait to finish the soundtrack and play some more of the game.

Added composer credits. They came from Blizzard Entertainment's Audio Director himself. Added Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan to the artist list, just needs to be approved.

Yeah, the album is arranged to tell the story of the game more so than contain all of the game's music. Just like with the WoW CDs. Then again, there's 4 hours of music in StarCraft II, so that would take up 4 discs.

I'd buy that set.

Well, from what I gather, if you play the Protoss or Zerg in multiplayer (non-campaign), it has their music intact. So I guess all of the battle tracks are actually in this version of the game. I would have personally liked to have heard the Terran themes separated and extended.

Again, however, rather than just provide a cue dump, I appreciate the effort that went into making the CD tell a story.

Fair enough. I reckon they'll be releasing more soundtracks with the upcoming two parts of SCII anyway so maybe we'll see some tracks from this version appear there.

Again with Blizzard, different versions are available.. with different catalogs numbers:
(the content is always the same, but packaging is fully translated)

Current scans are from the UK version, but the catalog number does not reflect that.

US Version:
Disc: no catalog number (confirmed, scan added)
Booklet back: S7283652 ?
Back: S7283653 (confirmed)

UK Version:
Disc: S2286301 (confirmed, scan added)
Booklet back: S2286302 (confirmed)
Back: S2286303 (confirmed)

Italian Version:
Disc: S2286701 ?
Booklet back: S2286702 (confirmed, reprint added)
Back: S2286703 (confirmed, reprint added)

There's probably a German version, a Spanish version, a French version, and many more versions..
