Found a cue today which had composer breakdown for tracks:
Dennis Martin: 1-6, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 18-20, 22, 24, 25, 28, 29, 31, 34-36, 39, 40, 43, 45, 50 Takeo Miratsu: 7, 9, 12, 13, 16, 17, 21, 23, 26, 27, 30, 32, 33, 37, 38, 41, 42, 44, 46-49 I wonder where that information has come from, or is it just fan decryphering the composing styles for both composers or is it just total bullshit. |

Silly question, Track #32 "A Dragon Killed in Action" - wouldn't "Dragoon" make more sense? I'm not too good with the Japanese so I can't really check it out myself too well, but I was looking this listing when re-ripping my copy of the soundtrack and it made me wonder.

It is played when talking to the Librarian and he recites the history of the Dragon Campaign

The kanji was wrong, so track 32 actually translates to (the) Dragon Campaign.
JASRAC confirms the breakdown so I've added it to the notes. EDIT: I've fused the "english localized" tracklist since it was identical save a couple of place names, no need to have a new tracklist. Except track 31, I can't find evidence the track title (聖なる都/Holy City) refers to the place called "The Birth City" in the US (ie.- that's just the track's name, in the JP game "The Birth City" was not written 聖なる都). Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! So that composer breakdown is accurate then? That is just too cool for words.
This soundtrack has it's problems but I'm fond of it for some reason. Kinda figured one person handled the battle tracks. Seems Miratsu did most of the tracks I'm fond of. Last edited by Brad Evans; Oct 24, 2011 at 08:37 PM. |

In the Tierkreis case, the track in question uses a theme composed by Miura but otherwise the work is Aoki's. In PDS, the track in question was credited to the arranger (Nanba) only, without reference to the original composer of the theme used (Kobayashi).

I also saw a couple of composition credits that didn't match neither the composer nor arranger, but it's rare.
I think tipically JASRAC is just given "artist" credits, defaulting to composition. So JASRAC is accurate, but only as much as whoever submitted the info, just like many booklets don't credit original compositions. Thus always double check if possible. |
