An announcement on Diverse System's website states that they've halted their distributions of 'D16' and 'Dear, Mr.Wac' (http://vgmdb.net/album/22606) on account of a warning sent to them by Konami Digital Entertainment for copyright infringement.

Whoa, this is disturbing news. Is this part of a larger crackdown on doujin remix and arrange releases?

It seems so and I doubt that Diverse System will go against Konami. It's actually sad, because Diverse System has an awesome and huge discography. I guess the D and Dear series may end here.
I don't understand Konami, to be honest. It was actually free promotion for them.

This news is truly annoying me... seriously...

As I know nothing about Bemani and this circles, I'd like to be neutral and want everybody to take my post with a grain of salt, but I read that this album actually contains an arrangement of the track which was supposed to be "rocked" at this moment, but was eventually leaked. While I think the activity of doujin circles should basically be tolerated as long as a) they don't hurt the right-holders, or b) don't go to the virtual pro who gains excessive moneys, didn't they cross the line, apparently?

If that were the case, then yeah, the action Konami took is certainly justified.
