I've read the scan of this album but I haven't found any reference to Nobuo Uematsu who has composed most of the tracks... is this possibile?

I'm not sure he was part of actively composing/arranging for this soundtrack, but if that's not the case he should be marked as featured.

There has been an argument on whether we should mark composers as featured on official releases, since it pushes this album into the orange galaxy of doujin albums, 99 percent of which sounds even worse than Dissidia and thus isn't cared by ordinary Nobuo Uematsu fanboys. On the other hand, one can argue that the main discography should reflect a composer's activity, so anything he/she wasn't deeply involved in shouldn't be there. I think both sides have a very good point.

Why should ordinary Uematsu-fanboys care about this if this didn't have anything new from him, just his tracks arranged. Like on doujin albums (which 99% time what I've heard do sound good or sometimes even better than 'official' arranged tracks.)

If your favorite composer's work is arranged by professional artists, aren't you more motivated to give it a listen, at least, than doujin albums out there? That was at least the case with me (and I was disappointed with FFXII tracks here). I'm pretty sure many Uematsu fans care about the next band arrange album or orchestral concert, even if no new material is featured.
While I want to maintain a due separation between official and doujin albums, to be flank I'm also sick of how a popular artist's discography is generally filled up with reprise, official arrangement, limited editions, re-releases, etc. It's more peculiar for retired or departed persons. I think we've discussed about this for 3 years or so, but haven't reached into a consensus. |

Well, my opinion is that I'm happy just to hear stuff from my favorite composer(s) be arranged, either professional or doujin-guys, I don't discriminate, I just love. :P
But you do have a point though. Maybe there should be probably even tree views for the albums; just like click + sign and the featured albums-tree would open up. Wouldn't clutter so much of artist pages.
