Lantis is merging with Bandai Visual in april to form BANDAI NAMCO Arts. They state the label will stay the same, but I'm assuming the distributor will change to the new company. We'll see in a month I guess. |

It's April now so I made a new page for BANDAI NAMCO Arts: https://vgmdb.net/org/1714
Bandai Visual might need a 2nd page like Lantis (company page and label page). |

BANDAI NAMCO Arts is listed as the distributor and publisher on this soundtrack: https://vgmdb.net/album/74074
We can assume it will be the same for every release moving forward. The Lantis logo is still present but I guess it would be considered an imprint now. |

That's inconsistent with how we treat EMOTION, which is credited as a publisher despite the actual publisher being Bandai Visual. (And also High Position, Kiramune etc. where the actual publisher is Lantis Co. Ltd.)
In my opinion it should still be "Lantis (distributed by BANDAI NAMCO Arts)" for consistency. |

The whole imprint/publisher system is a bit confusing to be honest. I'm fine doing it either way.
I think Illidan said it best in another thread: Quote:

Best to stick with one of the systems within a company rather than a mix, I think.
Since future releases are already listed as by BANDAI NAMCO Arts on retailers I've updated every future Bandai Visual entry to BANDAI NAMCO Arts. It was also printed on the obi for April 4th releases: https://static-mercari-jp-imgtr2.aka...09789016_2.jpg (below the barcode and copyright) I've also linked imprints to the new company based on https://www.bandainamcoarts.co.jp/ Note that High Position is not listed there despite having releases as recently as last year, so I'm not sure if they are still active. Also according to that page the "BANDAI VISUAL" branding still exists as a label of BANDAI NAMCO Arts. Last edited by nstz; Apr 6, 2018 at 02:51 PM. |

publisher is used simply for visual convenience with the actual system lantis releases should be as follows: 1/ Lantis (imprint) / Lantis Co Ltd (publisher) -> Lantis (publisher for convenience and non-redundance) 2/ Lantis (imprint) / Bandai Namco Arts Inc (publisher) |

It wouldn't be hard to fix some of these. We only have three Kiramune and six High Position albums in the db.
EMOTION is a bit weirder because you have discs like this: https://vgmdb.net/album/60063 Package back: Bandai Visual (publisher/distributor) Disc: EMOTION / Lantis So technically it is: EMOTION (imprint) / Bandai Visual (publisher) / Lantis (imprint) / Lantis Co Ltd (publisher) / Bandai Visual (distributor) But obviously that's way too convoluted. |

emotion is just the animation label related to the rest (that can make music cd regardless) I guess lantis got special rights for love live, therefore not emotion |
