Would the Second Brain release be eligible for including on vgmdb? I've seen that this site does encompass original works by game musicians, but I don't know if the original music has to be "game-related" or not. Does anyone even know any more about this release?

I'd also love to learn about any other projects she's done (new or old). She mentioned something about working with the Sega Saturn in her RocketBaby interview, but I see no credits for her on any game for that system (so far).

Also obligatory mention that she's one of my favourite composers =]

Second Brain is certainly eligible for inclusion on VGMdb. The works category is for other works by VGM composers which would be of interest to fans, and this definitely falls under that category. There are some limits to what we'd want to see included, and the example I always give is Trent Reznor -- even though he composed music for Quake, we don't really want the whole Nine Inch Nails discography entered into the database.

It looks like Second Brain was released at last Spring's M3 festival, so there ought to be some more info on it somewhere.

Sweet. Perhaps though, there should be some (explicit?) mention of "O+N Factory".

Oh, no, it probably is - I didn't know what it meant. I just pointed it out since it's on the cover, and seemed like something that should be mentioned, If it's of no consequence to mention though then that's cool.

I'll add a mention in the notes

The only non Nintendo game i can see her being credited for is Ragnacure and Battle Bugs on Playstation 1, which you probably already know about.

Yeah I've heard all of Battle Bugs' music (definitely her), but only the one streamed track from Lagnacure. She may have only done SFX for Lagnacure anyway - that's what RocketBaby's interview states, but it's not a guarantee.

I see the photo has gone up. Heh, the one and only photo. I've always wondered where that originated.

I also added the anime single that she has listed on her site.

Lagnacure? are you sure it's not Ragnacure, many Japanese titles with R's get the L treatment

And indeed vice versa too. So again I'm not sure, but google gives more results for Lagnacure, so I just go with that.

SEMO has confirmed an interview with Soyo Oka recently. I intend to write the questions soon, so if anyone has any suggestions, please email me at [email protected] I'd really welcome any requests. I'm especially interested if you have anything to ask, Blitz Lunar!

EDIT: Interview sent off. Thanks for the help, David!

This is really neither here nor there, but regarding Ragnacure/Lagnacure, Artdink's website for the game and its sequel says "Lagnacure": http://www.artdink.co.jp/japanese/title/lagna/ (click "INTRODUCTION").

I really wish Oka had gotten a shot at a Zelda game. The thought struck me as I was randomly listening to the SimCity OST, and this part came up. Maybe it's the harp, but it would fit so nicely into a number of Zelda locales.

She'd be a brilliant guest composer (or main composer...) for the next Zelda. Wishful thinking.

This is just wonderful. I feel a sudden desire to SNESify this.
