Is this a reprint of The Second Story OST or is the music different?

This is basically a reprint but with the new jpop theme added to the PSP remake. The packaging is obviously different, too.

Thanks for the info! Maybe that should be added to the album page...

I've added it, then. By the way, is the cover really like that, or was this copy of the soundtrack...dusty?

It looks real to me, since it's on both differently-sized copies of the cover, plus on the interior pages.

Either that or it's just a dirty scanner.

Why are there so many grammatical errors throughout this series?!

I mean, for example, disc 2, track 30 - The fateful a moment.

Then you've got "Into The undiscovery ocean" and "Interval of freezed time" on Star Ocean Till the end of time...

These are just blatanly bad!! lol These errors just look so silly when they pop up in my visualiser, I have decided I HAVE to fix them in my own database! lol

Oh, it's not just limited to Star Ocean. It's a Sakuraba thing. If it doesn't have a ridiculous, perplexing, or otherwise nonsensical title, it's not a true Sakuraba track.

We should start a new topic: "Funniest Sakuraba track titles..."

Sakuraba doesn't name his own tracks (they are just tagged/numbered as seen in the additional soundtracks to Pluster World). The titles are given by the developers, and the "famous" ones (Wolfteam up to Tales of Phantasia, tri-Ace up to Valkyrie Profile 2, tri-crescendo) are by Hiroya Hatsushiba who complained in the liner notes to @midi's freedom that coming up with titles for Sakuraba is hard.

I had no idea. Why can't the man come up with his own stuff? Chances are it would make more sense...

I heard there was a guy who was entitling tracks with english simply by opening a dictionary and choosing words haphazardly (don't remember who, it's somewhere in my irc logs)

He just never does it. E.g. the titles of his solo albums are by his wife.

I remember hearing once that it's common place that composers do not name their own music for the games they work on. I'm sure some composers do, especially for original albums, etc., though.

Dang, I was searching all over for the thread this was first said in (and you might have been the one that said it). I was going to link it here. I remember reading this though, and found it to be very interesting.

I got the feeling that when it says "Composed, Arranged and Produced by" on an album that the composer actually named the tracks. For example, I think Nobuo Uematsu and Yasunori Mitsuda probably name all their own stuff, especially Mitsuda, who has given details about each song in the liner notes before. But I can imagine that many composers don't name their own stuff, and my theory could be completely off anyway :P

I know that for Mitsuda that's not always the case. He makes a comment in the Chrono Cross liner notes about the names for the victory tracks being provided by someone (the director, Kato?). The "produced by" credit just implies that he/she oversaw the project. That's all.

Ah, well, I read something about Mitsuda and Kato being good friends so that's easy to believe. Heh, I wish I could read all those liner notes.

In the case of Chrono Cross, there's a translation available here.

There are also some liner translations at SEMO, if I may put in an utterly shameless plug.

I think my favorite Sakuraba title is "The Desolte Smell Of Earth" because I like how the word Desolate is misspelled. I don't have any explanation why I love that.
