Volume regulator for 3.5 mm headphones
Not sure if anybody can help, but since the 3.5 mm jack on my TV is oxidised, crackles and sounds like a can of tuna, I wanted to plug the L/R outputs of my console directly to my Samson headphones.
Problem is, it doesn't have a volume control. Does it make sense to look for a female to male 3.5 volume control accessory? I'm not even sure it exists, and if it does, is there any risk of damaging the headphones? I have no other options, since I'm using active speakers so I have no amplifier to plug the headphones to. |

Will the sound be too low without a portable amp?
Here's the idea: 1- Connect the L/R audio cables from a console to the IN plugs of my AV selector. 2- Connect this male L/R to female 3.5 mm adapter to the OUT plugs of the same AV selector. 3- Connect this volume control between the adapter and the headphones.
