Anyone know why Soule or whoever constructed the two Morrowind soundtracks decided to use different track titles on them?

Are you sure the track titles are by Soule? There are none on my CD.

For some reason, both Wikipedia and VGMdb have these track names. No idea where they came from, but I've never seen them used anywhere. And I know that Track 07 is definitely not the Main Theme, nor is Track 15 the Ending Theme. Going to replace them with the appropriate track names from the DirectSong.com release.

The reason is because the Morrowind CD included with the game was a cue dump. Bethesda took the music and threw it on a CD, and Jeremy Soule had the files named explore 1, explore 2, etc., and had no involvement with the creation of the CD.
With the DirectSong release, Jeremy Soule actually remastered the tracks and set it up to be a separate listening experience outside of the game. That's why. |
