Yeah, the 6-disc Xenoblade 2 soundtrack, and especially the USB version, have become quite sought after due to their limited numbers and have skyrocketed in price on the aftermarket.

Huh, I guess I missed that when ordering it. That said Xenoblade2 special editions were really limited; the USB version was 2000 units and the CD one didn't appear to be that much more since they both sold out the first day from what I remember.

I ordered the CD to my friend's address in Japan and he ripped it for me. I don't have the booklet right now, but the CD has Japanese credits per track. I translated them to English on Twitter (link below). Feel free to copy the info to this website's listing:

https://twitter.com/robokick/status/...311242756?s=20

I know for a fact that Yoshitaka Suzuki worked a ton on this soundtrack, yet he's only credited in the "artist" field on two tracks, which leads me to suspect that the tracks that are labeled by "Nobuo Uematsu" are meant to say "originally composed by Uematsu", with the bulk of the orchestration and arrangements done by Yoshitaka Suzuki and the rest of the stellar orchestration team.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I'm asking around to see what the full story is here.

Hey there!

Yeah, all of those Nobuo Uematsu tracks just mean he originally composed the music. Uematsu didn’t do any arranging on this album. The only new song he composed is the vocal track “Hollow”.

My physical copy will come today, so hopefully the booklet has full arranger credits in there.

My copy just arrived! The booklet credits are perfectly done. Composer and arranger credits for every track. Also a huge, complete list of all engineers and musicians involved in the recording sessions. They definitely learned their lesson after all the hate they got for their botched credit job for FFXV Vol. 2. This is how every album should be done.

Okay, the biggest surprise after getting my copy of the OST is finding out that Mitsuto Suzuki, NOT Masashi Hamauzu is the composer and arranger of "Collapsed Expressway" (Disc 4, Track 2). I would have bet money that it was a Hamauzu track!

I can post the composer/arranger credits in a little while. If someone else is already in the process, please post here and let me know so that two of us aren’t doing the same thing.

All of the surfaces are glossy or reflective, so I’m not going to be able to get good photos. I’ll leave those to someone with a scanner.

I've finished the composer and arranger credits for all eight discs!

I'll add lyricist credits and track lengths a bit later. I need to go eat dinner

Thank you for the updates

Out of curiosity, is there any mention of orchestrator credits?

My pleasure!

Yes, there's a separate page with all of the recording section credits (musicians, orchestration, etc).

No track by track orchestration credits, but here's what's listed—

Orchestration:
Masashi Hamauzu
Shotaro Shima (Globe Enterbrain)
Yoshitaka Suzuki (Polion, Inc.)
Yoshinori Nakamura (TV ASAHI MUSIC CO.,LTD.)
Sachiko Miyano (Shangri-la inc.)
Yasunori Nishiki
Tomomichi Takeoka

No track-by-track, but I think we can safely assume that 'arrangement' and 'orchestration' basically mean the same thing here.

No idea what Tomomichi Takeoka was involved with though...

Added all credits from the book except GAME SECTION (game credits) and PACKAGE SECTION (package stuff). There are bound to be typos, fix as you see them or validate against scans once they're posted.

I will be linking the massive performer lists but I have to de-dupe the unique entries and update so it will take a bit.

Done

He orchestrated some tracks by Tadayoshi Makino (who works at the same company as him).

On Twitter he lists "The Airbuster" (Disc3 Tr.14) and "J-E-N-O-V-A - Quickening" (Disc7 Tr.2).

Keisuke Albert Kato
KAORI (Language)
Disc 8 track 15 could be Tsukasa Mogamigawa going by this video they sound similar in style and he works for Universal Music.
music video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZlcl6Tg3tE
in game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45OEuQDtUog

Disc 8 tracks 4 and 23 sound like the same female vocalist singing one in Japanese and the other in English. A stretch but maybe not this https://vgmdb.net/artist/577.
Song YouTube sample 1 and
YouTube sample 2.

Compared to in game.
JP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4Eu9R3vLRo
EN https://youtu.be/Z8EMvDmYxmc?t=4958

This Keisuke Albert Kato not sure if it's the same person but this person has been in other Square products such as Kingdom Hearts, Chrono Cross https://vgmdb.net/album/88352 but as part of another role.

I can already see it being fruitless with a name like "non".

Also got this tweet.

Guessing here, lyrics to them possibly, Original Lyrics: Motomu Toriyama, Lyrics Translation: Ben Sabin, John Crow ?

edited: my bad guess was tired when I wrote the lyric part and didn't see it already listed.

I wonder if anyone could upload some scans, if they have their copy (or that regular edition)

My scanner is not great, but if nobody adds anything, I have both and can upload some previsionary ones. I will say - I would LOVE if someone has a nice, clean copy of the standard edition cover, be it through scanning or a digital recreation; unfortunately, my copy came with some bends in it

I upload tons of images of my soundtracks to the database, but I do them all using my iPhone X's camera. In most cases, after cropping and editing, these turn out great and look nearly as clear as scans. But in this case, the paper and print quality is super reflective and I simply can't get good, clear images with just a camera. And this release it too popular and important to not have it done right, so I'll leave it to someone with the proper equipment.
