Is anyone familiar enough with this game to tell me where Night Fall is used? Considering there's apparently no character named Schneider in the game..
(of course, there's no one named "Tara" in Metal Gear, yet the first infiltration theme is called clearly called "Theme of Tara"...) |

I'm no Metal Gear expert but Schneider apparently exists: http://metalgear.wikia.com/wiki/Kyle_Schneider
As for "tara" I think that's short for 'tarazu', 'to decieve'. EDIT: based on the liner notes here, Izumi should have composed t02 Last edited by Dag; Feb 28, 2013 at 12:07 PM. |

I don't remember where I read/saw that, but they called it "Theme of Tara" because Hideo Kojima referred to that piece of music by humming the two recurring notes: ta ra, dun dun dun dun dun dun, ta ra, dun dun dun dun dun dun...

Is there a reason Tsuyoshi Sekito was omitted from the composer list here?

Good question. If I'm not wrong, Yuji Takenouchi himself provide the game credits.

Removed Kazuhiko Uehara from the arrangment field. Sound Programming is not arrangment.

EDIT: The weird thing is that "Night Fall" is actually played whenever Snake talks to Horry (or Holly if we go by the ports). The BGM that actually plays after Black Color is defeated is titled "An Advance." No doubt that whoever wrote the track list made a mistake. Last edited by Jonny2x4; Mar 15, 2012 at 01:48 PM. Whoever wrote the tracklist made several mistakes. "SPIRAL" & "ESCAPE" have been switched as well as "SHALLOW" & "IMMINENT." "ESCAPE" actually plays the staircase music & "IMMINENT" plays the swamp music.
Edit: Just so we're clear, I mean the original tracklist. Obviously the tracklist on the page goes off the album. It would probably be wise to add this in the Notes field, but we'd first need to do a scavenger hunt to find which tracknames pertain to which tracknumbers. "Wavelet" is played when Snake is talking to Natasha (Gustava in later ports), not Holly as it is stated on the case. It is also played when Dr. Petrovich dies.
"Nightfall" is played when Snake is talking to Holly, as I've mentioned above. "Reprieve of the Doctor" is said to be played during a conversation between three characters, but it's actually played when the player reaches the underground passage that leads to Dr. Petrovich's cell. It never actually plays during any of the "conversation demos". Maybe "Reprieve of the Doctor" was meant to be the title of "Wavelet". The titles for "Spiral" and "Escape" are definitely switched and I can vouch for a fact that the swamp music is definitely the track titled "Imminent", not "Shallow" (which plays in other areas, such as the front entrance of Tower Building). |

Anybody have any idea's on who composed each track individually? Hate having "Various Artists" next to each track in my media player. And I highly doubt the above composers worked together on each track. Many thanks.

According to Tsuyoshi Sekito (via twitter) he composed the music for "the underground and sewer areas of the base." Not sure which tracks those are on the album, though. Maybe someone more familiar with the game can narrow it down?

when you see the album title and its front cover (+disc)
isn't there something weird? if I was seeing the page for the first time, I'd find that weird/odd/strange/inaccurate/dumb but it's just me ;p |

Just added some improved scans. It's not a complete set, but they're improved over what's currently here.

Oh, great! So you wait until I buy it from you before doing this.
The whole reason I bought it from you in the first place! Thanks! |

I asked Yuji Takenouchi about the composer of Level 1 Warning. He told me that one was also done by Ika-chan.
https://soundcloud.com/missingsoul/level1 Edit: Yuji arranged another track from the game. His description says Yuko Kurahashi was the composer of "Wavelet". https://soundcloud.com/missingsoul/wavelet Also, it should probably be noted that Mutsuhiko Izumi included "Swing, Swing~"A" Jam Blues" and "Red Sun" on his album Third. I'd say it's pretty likely those are his tracks. Last edited by GirianSeed573; Jul 19, 2018 at 06:55 AM. |

Some specific composer info for Metal Gear 2 was added to the 2ch best VGM contest wiki by a user named "technouchi," which could be Yuji Takenouchi (I tried asking him on Twitter if it was but he didn't reply): [1]
