actually, it's 2 CD (CPCA-10254/5, 4976219042253)

edit: because CPCA-10256/7 is already taken for アスラズ ラース オリジナル・サウンドトラック (PS3/Xbox360 Asura's Wrath, 2012.03.07, 4976219042260, 2625 yens)

This album will come with a Bonus CD.
(2 for the OST + 1 bonus).
Depends if we do a separate entry or not.. but for now i have removed the 3rd disc.

I was wondering about that 3rd cd since the catalogue has 2 numbers (CPCA-10254, CPCA-10255)

Plenty of Capcom's bonus CDs have different cat# yet we still list them together (ex- CPDA-1021)

The bonus CD however seems to be a preorder-only-bonus, at least according to CDJapan.

Does anyone want to make an educated guess about the composers involved? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth preordering this one.

I am also wondering if it's worth getting with this bonus disc. I mean according to CD Japan it includes a "Biohazard The Mercenaries 3D Soundtrack", but the second Biohazard Sound Chronicle included this in it. So is it going to include the same tracks or does it give you more? I wonder even if there were any missing tracks that weren't included? Either way, I haven't played this game yet, but I am a huge fan of the series and it's music. I hope this game has a score similar to that of the earlier titles, given how similar they tried to make this game to previous entries. I wish they would get some of the series earlier composers again like Masami Ueda and Takeshi Miura, their work was absolutely brilliant!

Oh, well. I took a "leap of faith" and ordered a copy. The first press editions are running out and better grab it now than never.

Really liked The Darkside Chronicles. I just hope the music here is somehow on the same level.

Yeah, I also agree with that statement. I was hoping that they would contact some of the more well known and fan favorite composers for this game. The same can be said about RE 6, which while looking like a step in the right direction for the series, musically seems to be similar to the later games in the series. Not that those sound tracks were all bad, I liked some of them, but I still prefer the earlier title's tunes. Oh well, I heard some samples on Youtube of Revelations and it sounded actually pretty good. One of the tracks I liked was called "Trace of Riddles". I will probably buy this soundtrack anyway.

I feel like the money put towards pre-ordering this thing should have been spent on Armored Core V OST.

Wow! Takeshi Miura did the music for Revelations!? This went from a " maybe get this later purchase" to "essential to own" with that bit of information. Glad to hear that it sounds on par with the rest of the series, played the demo and was quite surprised how much I enjoyed it. I am wondering what the "Save Theme" for this game sounds like, they were always some of my most favorite tracks in the series. I feel more confident in both this album and game now! Thanks for the info!

Overall, I highly recommend this soundtrack to anyone. It has everything from ambient horror compositions, to trip hop (!!), to fast-paced action pieces, the latter of which never sound like the generic "epic" orchestral stuff you hear a lot these days. The main theme is to die for, but the three settings of the game also have their own theme music, with different variations to them throughout the story. Very listenable as standalone.
Thanks posting information about the save theme, I didn't read it as it said "Spoiler", but just wanted to make sure there was a save theme in this game. This game being so similar to the past games, I was unsure as to weather the soundtrack had one. Good to know, I am sure it is awesome like the rest of the game's OST. I am so happy to hear that at least for this game anyways that the series returned to it's roots, both from a games perspective and musical perspective. Music is especially important for this series, not that good music isn't important for any game, but was always such a key factor for the type of atmosphere one felt when playing. RE2 for example wouldn't be RE2 without that creepy/brilliant score. I look forward to purchasing this for sure when I can!

Uhm, isn't that just the preorder bonus disc?

Woo! My soundtracks came in today! I think it was worth preordering the game and soundtrack! Thought it was odd how the Mercenaries case doesn't have a back insert.

There are some discrepancies in the composer breakdown:
  • 1.09 is uncredited
  • 2.22 is credited to both Ichiro Kohmoto and Kota Suzuki, separately

I have a FLAC rip with a cue sheet, which says:
  • 1.09 was composed by Kota Suzuki
  • 2.22 is credited to Ichiro Kohmoto only
