Not many details out there on this one, actually. Discovered it through one of the involved artists' blog, where has a sample of his contribution for the album. http://www.manuelmora.es/2010/02/15/...yuki-iwatsuki/

A Hiroyuki Iwatsuki tribute album? F*** yes.

Game Music 4 All announces IWADON Hiroyuki Iwatsuki Tribute Album

Quote:
IWADON will be comprised of over 100 minutes of music, and will be available to stream for free starting March 24th, as well as a free download of the album through bandcamp at a date soon after. Musicians both large and small, and from genres as varied as orchestral to hip hop, from trance to jazz, and a wide variety more. The album will also include extensive liner notes on each track . . .
That page also has a video preview of a (rather liberal) piano arrangement of the stage clear theme from Omega Five.

I hadn't realized there was already a VGMdb page for the album Anyway hope you guys are looking forward to this release. Should be out next week. The video CHz mentioned is Kento Watanabe and you can check out his arrangement called Report From the 1920s on Vimeo here http://vimeo.com/10218204

Jeriaska plans on releasing several more teaser videos for the album leading up to PAX East. Tomorrow's video is a remix by Crashfaster!

Yeah, there aren't any download links yet, but you can stream every track from the site, so everyone should go ahead and check this out. I haven't given this a proper listen yet, but the snippets I heard while grabbing the arranger and game info sounded alright.

I do have to say though that the concept alone of 4mat covering Iwatsuki is the greatest thing in the entire universe.

THE WHOLE ENTIRE UNIVERSE

And Stemage is doing one of them (!).
I detect an epic weekend coming up ahead, listening to this.

Audio from the PAX East panel is now up on IWADON.com as the final track streamable. Genoboost and Jeriaska enlightens the world.

EDIT: Notice that they also explain why there's no download up yet. It'll be at Bandcamp after they've done additional promotion.

Does anyone know when the downloads will be available? I'm dying to get this in iTunes so I can have my play counts and ratings for everything, as well as sync it to my iPod.

I'll try to get some info the next time I talk to either genoboost or Jeriaska.

It looks like it'll be posted around Iwatsuki's birthday in July. Between now and then there'll be a "second push" of Iwadon with some new material and similar. It'll be awesome, promise!

Since there has been no download links so far and there will be new material coming, should we mark this album as delayed?

I can say for certain that this tracklist is not finalized and that the actual "album" per say will be out at Iwatsuki's birthday so I don't know if "Delayed" is right but it shouldn't be released. Maybe note that streaming was made available at the release date that is now.

Normally, the release date for a digital album means the tracklist is finalized and the full album is available for download. It seems that the date when the website went live with streaming tracks doesn't qualify this. I'll certainly put all the info in the notes, but I'm going to change the release date to Iwatsuki's 40th bday.

Full album's been posted, by the way, dudesters. You can download it from Bandcamp in FLAC, a couple of different MP3 encodings, and a few other lossy encodings.

There are six new tracks:

14. ilp0 - With The Gold Comes The Curse
31. Bradley Pearce - Spanky's Quest Track 6
36. Nate Trier - Jetman Remixed
37. Temp Sound Solutions - Choujin Sentai Jetman 2010 Mix

A few track names were changed slightly, and the order was mixed up a bit too. Here's the old tracklist, for reference:

Spoiler:
01 Chaos Behind Black Curtains
02 Spaghetti and Guns
03 Ninja Warriors Intro
04 We Got (chip) Love
05 Jungle Cave
06 Neon Glaciers
07 Winds in the Sky
08 The Escalated Invasion
09 Headquarters
10 Mitsume Meets Demoscene
11 Eye of the Flame
12 My Third Eye
13 Ninja Warriors Ending
14 Desolation Canyon
15 Carson City
16 Spanky's Quest Boss
17 Report from the 1920's
18 Eight Bits of Jam
19 Road to the Future (Tatsuhico Mix)
20 No Weather Who You Are
21 Skyscraper (Airflow Mix)

23 Super Madrigal & Rocky
24 Wrath of the Nopino Goblins!
25 Game Over -ab remix-
26 Enchanted Forest
27 Oldfield Joins the Army
