Any idea why when I use the artist search for "Shade" I get no hits even though Shade clearly has an entry in the database?

I'll have to look into the artist search code. There are actually 4 separate name fields in the artist database, the search might not be hitting the relevant one.

Yeah, the search code wasn't searching the display name field. I guess I thought that would be duplicitous, but people don't usually fill out the other fields for the single name entries, so I should probably add it.

EDIT - Okay, it works now. Also, I removed the deprecated website search box and processing.

Is there currently any way for users to add Events? Was gonna add Comic Market 75 (December 28-30).

Yeah, you can. Click on the forum calendar (not the calendar on the top navigation bar), and under "Add New Event" to the bottom right, click on "Ranged Event".

Hmm, is there any way to edit? The date became incorrect for some reason (also need to enter the default CM description...).

Navigate to the event in the calendar and select "edit event" from the box that says "event options". I've fixed the start and end times so the dates show up correctly now (they may still be a day off for you, depending on your timezone).

There's no interface for adding and editing events from the release calendar yet.

While we're on the topic, should the Events field be utilized for live show/concert dates and related information/pics/media of the concerts?

The list all users online today function is broken now; may have been a side-effect of the vBulletin upgrade..

Might make sense to make it possible to not add a classification for an album. Sometimes when information is scarce you just don't know what the correct one(s) is (especially with upcoming albums). Just to avoid giving out false information I mean.

It's been fixed, just a missing custom file.

Maybe we need an "Unknown" classification. It could possibly replace "Other", since I don't know that we need that category. Otherwise, we'll need a new color for Unknown.

Replacing "Other" with "Unknown" seems like a good idea, since Other is pretty pointless in any case. I'm mainly just looking for something to act as a placeholder until you know what's applicable. Since oftentimes when an album first turns up on release lists and such it might not be possible to tell.

We've just found a bug in the logging code that cropped up during the recent PhP/SQL upgrade. As a result of this bug, only a fraction of the album and artist page views that occured over the last month were logged. This problem is fixed now, and the viewcounts are chugging along like they should be.

Artist discography filtering now works for both original and featured sections. Filtering options have also been expanded to include artist roles:

Please let me know if the filtering behaviour isn't what you expect. I probably won't fix it right away though, I spent 4 hours debugging the Javascript =x

I just played around a wee bit, and it's pretty slick. I did find one problem.

http://vgmdb.net/artist/50

Click on Lyricist only, and no albums show up. There is an album where he's both Composer and Lyricist (Ano Machi no Koi no Uta Original Soundtrack), so it should probably show up for lyricist. Similarly, it doesn't show up when composer is selected, but it does show up when both Lyricist and Composer are selected.

In other words, when a single album has multiple roles, it should probably behave like an "OR" instead of an "AND."

Role filtering is now OR instead of AND. jQuery's filter function came in really handy.

Shortcut "submit new album" button. If everyone likes it this way, we could remove the link on the right of the secondary navigation bar. (There'll be similar buttons for artists, labels and so on.)

There seems to be a problem with assigning albums for Comiket 74. Apparently when I try to go edit, the 'Suggested' section fills up half the page and isn't aligned at all making it hard to see what albums to choose and assign. I tried the other events and they're working fine. It's just this one event that I've found this issue. I thought it was a browser issue so I tried Opera to see if it would show up correctly, but the problem still persists.

What resolution is your screen? There's a very long album title that's stretching the suggestion dropdown. I assigned it already so the dropdown should be more compact now.

I have mine set at 1024 x 768. I couldn't tell at all what the problem was. Didn't think it was a display problem on my screen when I first saw it. Dropdown is displaying fine now. Thanks.

No idea if it was ever abused, but I think the ability to rate albums which are not yet released should be turned off.

While we could do that, there might be some people in our audience who have received advance copies for review or promotional purposes who could legitimately rate it.

The album redirect page doesn't display the ' character correctly, it's changed to \'

For example, search for "layton pandora", but I've seen it in other albums.

I can't figure out why it was doing that, so I got rid of the re-direct (for now). So, when there's a single result, you're taken straight to that album.
