Gah, Chris, why didn't you alert us to this when the interview was published?

Minae Fujii is female.

Ippo Yamada:
Also being able to work with all the seniors and juniors at Capcom was a lot of fun... The biggest surprise was Fujii-san contributing an actual written score of her piece.

Quote:
Ryo Kawakami: For me as well, it was most fun to read and understand Fujii-san's written score. In order to bring out her intention of the piece as much as I could, I switched my brain to full throttle to finish sequencing it, while listening to her compositions for Mega Man 4 many times.

Her Japanese name gave it away though.

There is a gender field, but the album page doesn't reflect it. I guess that's why nobody bothers to fill it. It'd be nice if there was a ♂ / ♀ added somewhere to the page.

definitely. i suggested this a while ago. it would be very helpful in cases like this where the gender is not immediately obvious.

So she worked on the NES Duck Tales 2? That's what's stated on Wikipedia, at least. Any idea where that info comes from? I played through the game, but apparently it has no credits... The Glomgold's Ship is sooo awesome I would like to find more about her work.

I believe Harumi Fujita told one of my friends that Minae worked on that soundtrack.

Wikipedia also lists Akihiro Akamatsu as a composer for DuckTales 2, does anyone know if that's true?

I think it comes from here:

http://gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index....action=history

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php...ldid=833319952

The game's disassembled source code has been released. Supposedly Akihiro Akamatsu's and Sachiko Oita's names are in there somewhere but I couldn't confirm this at a glance. I'd suggest contacting Doommaster1994 at GDRI to confirm and get more details. Might solve a mystery, or rewrite history!
