Is there a way to search unlinked artists?
There seems to be a thread that is dedicated to alerting those who have the authority to link an artist to an album here.
http://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6597 While that's all well and good is there simply no way for people to find albums that an artist isn't linked too? I can imagine there is a good reason for this current system since the site likes to keep trusted/correct information but it kind of bugs me that some of these artists works can go unknown for a decent amount of time before they show up here. For someone who is a bit of a collection freak it just sucks knowing that there are a bunch of albums I could be missing in the long run. |

I think the only way, currently, is to use one of the artist fields (or even "Any field contains") and then manually look in the results if said artist is linked or not. Or at least that's what I do when I create a new artist and I'm looking for previous albums to link him. To find all of them, you might want to make 3 searches: one for the romanized name, one for the name in kanji, and another one with the name in kanji but putting a space between the first and lastname (remember to use quotes).
You can also combine it with the "No Artist Links" option since a lot of the time it can happen that none of the artists is linked, but you are probably going to miss some. |
