I honestly don't hear much of a difference between Tales and Star Ocean. The music is completly interchangeable for me. Dark Souls is different, I give him that, but it's nothing I would hear out of context and also nothing I would like to see in Eiyuden.

The last soundtrack by him that I enjoyed was back in 2012, for Labyrinth no Kanata. Absolutely nothing since then. IMO he's miscast for this project.

Well, I wouldn't say he is miscast. I mean, Naruke and him worked together for Telenet in the early 90s, so this makes another reunion after several years, same as for Murayama and Kawano after 25 years or so. Maybe that's one of the reason with this "nostalgic factor".

Personally, I enjoy both his Tales and Star Ocean soundtracks, but I think where he shines are soundtracks where he collaborates with other artists, like the Dark Souls series or Tales of Zestiria. He is a kind of allrounder and known by many gamers I guess.

Also, don't forget we have Mariam Abounnasr on board to bring some Celtic / Ethnic vibes to the soundtrack (hopefully) ^_^

8-Bit Symphony Pro Second Half

Quote:
We want to record more epic Commodore 64 music with the Hollywood-grade Czech Studio Orchestra. Recording dates are set for end of May 2021.

We want to give fans the chance to watch the recording sessions from home, and to own beautiful scorebooks, credit-card-style USB wafers and lots of other limited goodies.

[...]

Check out this YouTube playlist. These are computer renders.

That included Defender of the Crown, Hunter Patrol, Nemesis the Warlock, Ark Pandora, The Last Ninja®® Wilderness, Bump Set Spike, Times of Lore, Super Huey, Storm Warrior, Pygmies Revenge (a spin-off from Populous, oddly), Master of Magic, Bogg's Grouting, Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, Dragon's Lair II (Escape from Singe's Castle), Wizardry. There may be more.
Digital download from GBP 22, physical double-CD from GBP 35.

Ends on December 6, 2020.

My comment: The first one was simply amazing. I am sure this one will be as well.

And if they get to CAD $20,000 we get... VINYL!

Laurence Manning has released a few other VGM albums as well.

EDIT: Lauraence Manning and her team have exceeded the funding goal, for release sometime in February 2022. Should this be added as an entry o shoudl we wait until the campaign ends?
