Glad that caught your attention!

So, officially, the album was released today (Dec 15), so I've changed the date. It was available earlier as a pre-release privilege for subscribers of the wootbox.

More old school releases from Wayô are on the way!

I doubt anyone knows right now, but for when anyone who purchased this soundtrack has given it a listen I'm interested to know:

1. What is the sound quality like? The Streets of Rage collection from 2012 was slightly poor in this regard IIRC and it made me skip the release.

2. Is it the original YM2612 or the YM2608 versions? I'm hoping it's the former, but I want to make sure.

This video has samples of each track. I wonder if these new tracks were actually written for the game back then, or it's newer stuff Koshiro did in the same style. Either way, they're pretty good, and would fit the game.

The answer is in the liner notes.

I don't understand why a weird resonant lead sustain can be heard in the back on "Fighting in the Street" at 2:22 (loop moment).
It can't be heard on the Yuzo Koshiro BEST COLLECTION vol.2 version, but is also present on the Bare Knuckle Original Soundtrack version as well (i've been told).

So it's how this track actually sounds on a real MegaDrive?

Because i can't hear that on the VGM rips... Unfaithful emulation would then be the reason?
(I guess that concerning real hardware, MD1 and MD2 can also sound different )

The intro track "Streets of Rage" also beginning with quite metallic chords then accompanied by more typical FM sounding chords lead(s), that can't be heard on the VGM rips either.

Maybe because it uses the original PC-88 versions?

PC-88 originals you mean?

Then no i am thinking about the opposite, as Yuzo Koshiro BEST COLLECTION vol.2 version, PC-88 sourced, doesn't sound like that, when Bare Knuckle Original Soundtrack version, MegaDrive sourced, does.

The video here is seemingly on real hardware, it does have the sustained note around 2:30 https://youtu.be/CSpJzGwKdak

Also compared to PC-88 soundboard versions, drums samples sounds sampled (or replayed) at a higher quality on MegaDrive.
I like both versions on this matter, different sounds.

Isn't track 20 originally from Streets of Rage 2? That should probably be added to products represented then, no?

Has anybody figured if the disc is really MADE IN FRANCE, like the back of the box says? I have the feeling this is all made in China (box and disc), just imported and sold by Wayo in France. I guess I need to have a look at the IFPI and the other ring codes.

@LuxKiller65 I don't have this specific release, but other Wayo releases have "www.squeezer.fr" stamped on the disc matrix. Their Discogs page says they use Optimal Media GmbH.
