Speaking of Takehara, am I the only one who thinks her work on Breath of Fire II is underrated?

there are a handful of nice tunes, though overall it isn't my bag (i prefer bof I and III's music, personally.) it doesn't seem underrated though, the game is part of a well-known franchise after all.

Well, I guess I think this because while I like III, I think it's overrated. I don't think much of I's music, but I recently bought the cart so maybe when I play through it the music will mean more to me.

II has a nice score, but it's certainly the most conventional of the series. It probably seems underrated only because the whole series is underrated--people just don't talk about Breath of Fire that much.

Another thing to consider is that Takehara is not particularly well-known. The most popular BoF soundtracks among VGM fans are probably III-V, and Kaida, Aoki, and Sakimoto are all active composers. Whereas, Takehara has been off the radar until Rockman 10, so who knows what her day job is nowadays.

Considering the above plus the fact that BoF2 contends directly in the Square-dominated SNES-era RPG genre, I don't find it surprising that BoF2's music isn't particularly popular.

Sorry if i am stating something obvious or possibly known or possibly something dumb, but according to this page it claims she did work on Zelda Four Swords Adventure. Anyone know anything more about this?

It's referring to the GBA Four Swords included with the GBA version of A Link to the Past. Takehara is credited for - Music - as "Y. Takehara"

Hmm. I figured she did the music, but i had no idea she ever went anywhere outside of Capcom. She was responsible for the original music i take it?

Four Swords was developed by Flagship, which was a subsidiary of Capcom.
