KICA-7605: Konami Game Music Collection Vol.5
Any way anyone could properly translate these? The online translators I commonly use literally puke nonsense...
08 Amae mo kore made da! / あまえもこれまでだ! 10 Sui ttobashite yaru! / 吹っとばしてやる! 11 Kata o tsukeyou ze! / かたをつけようぜ! 14 Kono Zako Yarou! / このザコ野郎! By the way, does track #13 really translates to "Kill!"? Thanks in advance!! Last edited by PsychoZeke; May 18, 2009 at 01:05 AM. |

^Those tracktitles are all (pretty slang-ish) dialog, so it's a question of finding an equivalent that sounds good. I made a few edits but this tracklist could do with a going over.
Here are the sound credits for the Arcade, SNES and Mega Drive versions of Sunset Riders. Arcade version Sound Advisor: ??? Arcade version Music: M Furukawa (presumably Motoaki Furukawa) Arcade version Sound Effects: K Fukui (should be Kenichiro Fukui) SNES version Sound Program: Naohisa. H Mega Drive version Sound Design: M. Ikariko Mega Drive version Sound Design: H. Inoue Do we link Fukui as a 'composer' here? considering there are sound effects tracks for each game on the disc. Here are the sound credits for arcade of Asterix.
Sound effect: J-Kane Music composer: Mutsuhiko Izumi, M. Egawa, Michiru Yamane (Chiru Chiru), Junya Nakano, A. Hashimoto. M. Egawa should be "Mariko Egawa" but I'm not sure, while some places like arcadehistory.com or wikipedia report an erroneus M.Egama. No idea for what A. Hashimoto stand for. Hexion composer are: Junya Nakano, Yuji Takenouchi, Satoko Miyawaki; infos from here. No infos are available at the end of the game since it's an infinite puzzle game. Can someone put some scans of the booklet, it will be interesting. LuxKiller? Last edited by depa; Oct 3, 2009 at 03:33 PM. |

The titles for each of the boss themes are actually taken from the subtitles of the Japanese version. For some reason they translated "Aye Chihuahua" to このザコ野郎! ("You Small-Time Punk!"), which doesn't make much sense, but almost everything else is more or less accurate with slight liberties.

I don't understand what you mean, or where these other titles come from. Are you talking about titles from a sound test?

Like I already wrote, the track titles for each of the boss themes in Sunset Riders are all translations of the lines spoken by each boss before battle.
For example: when you fight Simon Greedwell at the end of Stage 1, he says "It's Time To Pay". In the Japanese version, this is subtitled as もうおまえもこれまでだ。 ("It ends here for you") The title of track 8 is titled "おまえもこれまでだ!", which happens to be the translation of Creedwell's line in the Japanese version (omitting only the "もう" portion) . You can check the other lines at the Japanese Wikipedia. http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%82%...83%BC%E3%82%BA Last edited by Jonny2x4; Dec 26, 2009 at 11:05 AM. |

Is it reasonable to assume that there are no pictures of Asterix or even any game screen captures because Konami would have to pay some additional fee for that? I wonder if they had to pay even just to print "Asterix" in there, never mind in the official logo letters.

So went over the english translations as well as the title in abbreviation part, but there's a few corrections I can see:
1-4 - Gunfight at the Sunset Corral (This is directly replacing O.K. with Sunset) 1-13 - assuming we're going with arcade VO, the line is "Me Ready for Pow Wow!" 1-14 - misspelled "Chihuahua" 1-17 - Help My Friends (this is the cantina girl crying for help) 1-18 - Let's Dance 'til the Morning (the verb is volitional not imperative) 1-20 - misspelled "Yippee" (yippie is political hippie group) 1-57 - Way to Go Hexion (I'd also seen "Let's Go" or "Go Go" as translations, but that is just romaji there now) 1-58 - It's the Select (erabu is to select, not arab which would be arabu anyway) 1-59 - missing the exclamation at the end 1-60 - Yay it's a Showdown (uki wasn't acknowledged before) 1-62 - Dreaming of Hexagons (previous phrasing too weird) 1-65 - You're Great (romaji) 1-66 - Much Appreciated (romaji) I personally made a few other changes but they didn't seem as necessary to bring up |

Long time since this tracklist was discussed but I added the parts within brackets that were missing. The previously translated English tracklist might still be in need of some fixing though. With this, all the 'Konami Game Music Collection' tracklists are now in good shape.

The titles of tracks 10 and 11 appear to be partially swapped. The quote of the boss from stage 3 is "You in heap big trouble!" and stage 4's quote is "We're gonna blow you away!" but they're swapped on the CD. The actual music and the "Stage #" of the titles is in the correct order, just the quote part of the titles are backwards.
Compare it to the actual game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yP2ba-QYQY8 (9:50 is boss 3, 11:10 for boss 4) Should this be fixed in the track listing or just an album note? |

Tracklist should remain exactly as it is written on the album itself. You can leave a note if something is off like that (which we do all the time on Konami albums cause Konami rarely knows their own damn music)

Some specific composer info for Hexion was added to the 2ch best VGM contest wiki by a user named "technouchi," which could be Yuji Takenouchi (I tried asking him on Twitter if it was but he didn't reply): [1]
