I have raised this in various Nintendo composer threads before, but it is bothering me enough that I think it deserves its own thread. The site has entries for many Nintendo composers, with game soundtracks they have worked on, listing the songs they (so-say) wrote for each game. Some examples:

Some of these credits are of course verifiable via interviews and album releases, but the majority as far as I am aware are not. Having said that, a lot of the credits which are there are IMO quite believable, stylistically consistent, and it seems like there is some rationale behind them.

I have edited some of the articles adding Citation Needed tags, and even spoke to some of the staff in their IRC channel about it. I think it's a big problem to have these unsourced credits hanging around, with the veneer of being official and conclusive, as I'm sure many fans will read these articles and consider the information accurate on face value. At the same time, they do provide valuable perspectives and insights that I still believe should be preserved somehow. I'm also wondering if there's anyone around VGMdb who participates at that site and could say anything more about it (Guitarist500?) If nothing else, I just wish to bring this to wider attention. As I see it, the site needs to provide sources, or at least provide links to discussion articles where the thinking and logic behind these credits is made plain.

Non official guesses shouldn't be used on a Wiki, even if it's pretty much 100% certain a composer wrote that specific song.
