Phew really glad that this soundtrack didn't get the usual "Aniplex treatment". I'm already loving what i heard in the first episode.

Probably because Sawano's soundtracks sell. Look at his most recent soundtrack for Attack on Titan. It's ranked on the Oricon charts for 14 weeks straight and has sold nearly 60k copies so far.
That's not record breaking or anything (Macross Frontier's 1st soundtrack ranked for 26 weeks and sold 189k copies) but it's still very rare for an anime soundtrack to push that many sales. |

Overall it would benefit them much more since Disc sales are more important that cd sales in the long run. |

enclosure in order to sell more anime bd/dvd?
and if that hadn't the wanted effect? meaning that a composer can know if his music is liked with cd releases it's more difficult with enclosures, can't really know if it's for music or anime that people buy Last edited by Phonograph; Oct 6, 2013 at 02:16 PM. |

I'd love to see the day when Sawano finally creates a NORMAL tracklist.
I mean he's GOT to be doing this on purpose....... |

I wonder if 蛇L could be "Dull" (the only word that could have sense, but honestly "gorilla dull" ack)
I don't remember if in the anime satsuki kiryuuin is abbreviated as just kiryuu |

I wonder if it's supposed to be "inu ka saru" like for saying "a dog or a monkey?" or "inuka saru" like for "a monkey in the family" (maybe)
I thought of jaru/jal but I doubt it's gorilla japan airlines or I don't get the pun the rest is ok |

イヌカサル can be 居ぬ か 去る (Go or Leave).

Oh, I should also note something. Around the time Titan's soundtrack was released Sawano said on Twitter that the readings [on sites like JASRAC] were decided based on suggestions from the producer but that doesn't mean they are "official readings".
He hasn't said anything like this for Kill la Kill but it's probably the same. Still, it's more official than our guessing. |

that "jaru" thing makes me perplexe
same with "hiru la lill", my guess is that it's a way to say "lunch was short" the booklet will maybe have the reading in kana like titan's |

From what I was reading on CDJapan, I really really hope that it wasn't just the first printing that got a booklet full of credits.

The first press includes the scorebook and an interview. I'm pretty certain you'd get the booklet credits with either version though. Would be a real jip if you didn't.
That aside this album sold like crazy. I think Cdjapan restocked their first press versions TWICE and they still ended up running out lol. I wonder if this album will surpass Attack on Titan? :P |

Kinda hoping someone here got a first-press so we can get some scans.

Only because it is somehow on my Anki vocabulary deck...
イヌカサル probably comes from 犬猿 which is apparently the Japanese version of the English idiom "cats and dogs" (e.g. fight like cats and dogs). |

Got my first press copy today. I'll have to upload booklet scans tomorrow.
Just a question first but would it be ok for me to upload the scorebook too? The interview is 10 pages long (5 pictures) but the scorebook is 68 pages long (34 pictures). |

I wouldn't include the score book, it's a first press bonus and very problematic on the copyright side of things. That's just me though.

Uploaded scans and interview. I wonder if anyone could possibly translate it because i'm actually interested a bit in it .

Is it really necessary for the Japanese and English tracklists to have a different name for track 10? Since it was said that the JASRAC names aren't exactly official, and the name in the Japanese tracklist doesn't really even need to be translated, and it is official as it's from the booklet and everything. I know it's not all in English, but is it really necessary for it to be, since the Japanese name isn't? And for the capitalization on some tracks, was it just random? For example, with track 3 "犬Kあ3L", why is it "INUKA3L" in English instead of say, "InuKa3L"?
