hmmm... well then it looks like it's Sawada.

Could anybody translate the rest of that? (Assuming the reason you don't know what it says is because it's in Japanese)

Golden Axe The Duel was released for the Arcade in 1994, not 1995 as it says in the notes. Is this a typo in the booklet or by someone here?

The back of the case says 1995.

It's surely a typo, look the snap available in the Golden Axe The Duel file, it gives the 1994 copyright...

It was a series of retro soundtrack releases Wave Master did for a little bit.

I've never bothered to compile a full list of them but I know Super Hang-On, Galaxy Force II & Thunder Blade, and Virtual-On were part of it too.

So it basically comprises Sega soundtracks, except not all of them... Odd.

Sounds like the "CGM" series from King Records. Sometimes the logo's there, sometimes not. Not really consistent.

If only Clarice Discs had handled this, I now could listen to David Whittaker's score for the Amiga port, which trumps all the other versions

My friend messaged Sawada on his Soundcloud account, asking what tracks him and the others done for Golden Axe III. He replied:

Quote:
Hi [name removed]. I did only one track for "Golden Axe III". Which is called "Boss Theme 1" or "Boss Theme Odd Stage".
About tracks others made, I don't remember who made what. It's been more than 20 years and I don't have the documentation around me any more. so that's all I can tell you.

Thank you for your support.

Best Regards.
Tomonori Sawada
Yeah, I guessed that the boss theme was his track. Though I can contact Hataya on Twitter on what he composed, Maeda and Oguro are unfortunately uncontactable at the moment, so we may never get a full breakdown for this game.

I'm guessing Oguro done 1 or 2 tracks, while Hataya and Maeda were probably the main composers of the game.

Maeda's songs are easy to guess, as he uses the same PSG in a distinct way (compared to Hataya), which can also be heard on Sonic 3D Blast.
