Hmm? ...I guess my only question about this is...will this contain ALL NEW songs from the game?

I believe it will include all the music that is in the game through patch 2.1, if I'm not mistaken. That includes the few returning tunes from the Before Meteor music that are still present in the game.

Good decision to get Nobuko Toda orchestrating the orchestral tracks. Gives a next-gen production quality that was certainly lacking in the original.

Especially considering Soken is not always so comfortable with orchestral type of music. Still, some VST instruments sound a bit weak in FFXIV ARR.

James O - which bonus sleeve have you gone for, or did you find a way of bagging all three?

Hah, actually this time I just opted for the vanilla release. Slipcases don't do that much for me. They're nice when I get em but i'm not going to go all out for them. I noticed SQ SWING is announced now so I'm sure the hunt will be on again soon enough in a couple months =p

Hello everyone, I just have a question about the artist of the bonus track, who is it? It bothers me a bit.

Well it is certainly Masayoshi Soken's version of Clash on the Big Bridge.

I have my own copy but I can't extract it yet without blu-ray, but internet says Nobuo... so I'm not quite sure who's the artist is on the zipped file.

If it's that hidden track, it's Nobuo Uematsu as the original composer, but Soken arranged it.

Some. Since they are from FFXIV 1.0 but are also used in A Realm Reborn, they probably decided to put them there as well, so that people who only played ARR and enjoyed these tracks don't have to buy Before Meteor on top of this new album.

Interesting note in the US site (under Artist's Message)

Quote:
...includes 119 tracks for a total of 6 hours and 48 minutes of music.
The disc also includes MP3 versions of every track.
These MP3 files were mastered separately from the high-resolution tracks, and comprise 119 tracks or 8 hours and 9 minutes of music.

Yes, I've noticed that now that you mention this. the times for the mp3s on the disc are different than the times that are currently on the page for this album. the times on the page now must be from the blu-ray. Should we have another tracklist page done up for the times from the mp3 version?

also are we adding the hidden track #120?

So....what the heck is with the "Film Score" credit here? Weird thing to use as someone's psuedonym.

This is Nobuko Toda's company, and Yoshitaka Suzuki is working with her. You can see their two names on the album page actually. I took the liberty to credit them because they are in the game credits.

Anybody know more details about when/why Suzuki jumped ship? I guess it makes sense -- abundantly clear that Nobuko Toda is going places, whereas Norihiko Hibino hasn't done much significant for a while.

so we can't have two sets of tracklists with different times. do we need to make a new page just for the mp3 tracklist time version?

You can't have two track lists with two times. There does not need to be any entry (separate or here) for the contents of the mp3 tracks. Different times or not, they're just an inclusion bonus. The output in the thread above suits fine. The times are only there for freedb anyway which can't query the bd disc so it's just informational at this point.

I wouldn't say the times are only there for freedb. I use them to help me judge the value of an album as I'm less motivated to spend money on a short album. Plus, if either you ripped the Blu-ray tracks or are just using the provided MP3s you can use foobar's "Get tags from freedb" feature to query VGMdb. So a separate entry for the MP3s would have at least theoretical usefulness, though I'm not saying we should have one, mainly since it's not a standalone product. Too bad we can't make a tracklist with different times.

Is it worth recording the password needed to unzip the bonus track in the notes section? I've only had a quick flip through the booklet but I couldn't see it mentioned in there.
