I listen to this soundtrack on my MP3 player all the time and unlike the Chrono Trigger OST, these songs sound so much more catchy, intricate, and effusive. I love the infusion and mix of jazz into something unrelated like this. I think Mitsuda himself certainly had an arrangement like this in mind when composing some of his tunes for the original game.
Anyone else like this album better than the original? I think it's gotten very overlooked.
