Often wondered whether this was a pseudonym or relative of Akira Yamaoka. Checking the 2197 booklet makes me even more suspicious -- 'Akira Yamaoka featuring Sayaka'. Also apparently contributed to Shadow of Destiny and Pro Evolution Soccer series. Anyone know more?

Don't have any groundbreaking info on Sayaka Yamaoka, but Atsushi Sato refers to her as Ms./Mrs. Yamaoka in the liner notes for Tokimeki Memorial 2 Original Soundtrack Vol.1, so she definitely appears to not be a pseudonym for Akira Yamaoka if anyone still thought that.

Is there any composer information in those notes, by the way? I'm interested in what Miura composed for this.

There are some staff comments in the usual Konami style, so no breakdown but they talk a bit about what they and other people were responsible for. I'd leave it to someone better at Japanese to suss out the details, but Atsushi Sato (volume 1) and Miura himself (volume 2) talk about how he arranged character themes composed by Metal Yuhki. Miura specifically comments on Hikari Hinomoto's, Kaedeko Sakura's, and Kasumi Asou's themes, and Metal Yuhki lists him for Kaori Yae's.
His listed role is "composer & arranger" along with Sato, Hana Hashikawa, and Sayaka Yamaoka, so it doesn't look like that's all he did. |
