Isdapi has removed Ryo Fukui from the arranger list. Can anyone find any information confirming or refuting this?

Well, I guess it's my duty to corroborate with proof the removal of Ryo Fukui from the arranger list.
First, the only sites which give arrangement credit to Ryo Fukui are GMR and RPGFan (maybe some other), in any case all of them are "western" ones, I've still haven't found any japanese site which cites to Ryo Fukui as arranger.
Btw, my source is http://bsm.hp.infoseek.co.jp/data-sq...ml#romasaga3ar

This page agrees:
http://f22.aaa.livedoor.jp/~erel/rs3arrange.html

Also, if you check out the obi scan available on the album page, only Taro Iwashiro is listed as arranger.

As for the vocalists, I've seen 絵馬優子 romanized as "Yuhko Ema" (from her role as Fantine in the Japanese Les Miserables recording), though I prefer "Yuko" anyway.

Good job!

Found this and I've never seen that cover art before. Was it a first press?

I'd say it's the back of the booklet.
I don't know if it's a sort of strategy to make people thinks it's an "anormal" release or something, but i see that pretty often when i look around YJA.

Further research does suggest that a "Ryo Fukui" did not do any orchestral/arrangement work proper. I think someone misread the liner notes, or did a shit job with the kanji, at some point over a decade ago?

I'll be fixing this on RPGFan's listing.

The lyricist here doesn't appear to have been a professional writer, so it looks like this album is her only lyrics work and there's not really any information about her around anywhere. That makes finding a reading for her name kind of tricky!

There's a Hiroko Noguchi who appeared in several Square SNES games, so I think it's probably her.

I love the idea that someone who worked in the office/administrative end of Square got to write lyrics for an arranged album. Warms my heart.

Overture: OST 3-17
Beginning of the Dream: OST 1-2
In the Gentle Rocking Breeze: OST 1-23
Lost Memories: ???
A Shy Smile: OST 1-19
Two Hearts: OST 3-5
Fairy's Whisper: OST 2-6
Tears: OST 3-10
Stardust Waltz: OST 2-20
Windy Tale ~What the Wind Taught Me~ - OST 3-17

Lost Memories is the only one I can't figure out. It sounds like Ito, though, no question, but the style and tempo may have been changed significantly from the OST version. All around, I think the arrangements improve on the originals.

This is truly a god-tier classically arranged VGM album. Iwashiro deserves endless praise for this.

I'd love to know what other albums this community thinks come close in terms of arrangement/orchestration.

Takayuki Hattori tops my list: Seiken Densetsu: Put Your Thoughts to Music, Falcom Neo Classic, Symphonic Suite Final Fantasy

Akira Senju's Walkure Story (Valkyrie no Densetsu) suite is also fantastic.
