I don't know why some people are so bent out of shape towards Hellacia.

I thought I was the one who started the whole, "japanese-seller is an asshole for selling a CD for $1500...."

HAHAAHAA!!!......Seriously would any of you sell a CD for that much? I hope not. I know I wouldn't.

VGM is awesome and needs to be shared. I don't like jerks selling CDs for that much.

I would never do something like that. No matter how rare the CD is.

Neither would the majority of us. But I wouldn't buy a CD for say $200 and then sell it on for $20. I don't agree with buying VGM strictly for making profit, but if you decided the CD wasn't for you anymore you aren't going to take a massive loss on it, that would be pointless. I paid more than $300 for a particular album because I wanted it. Not because I lack self respect.

I don't find it's a fair system for second-hand sales
when you sell a vg to a shop (for example), it's the buyer (shop) who decides the price, not the seller (you could buy a game for 100€ and the shop BECAUSE it's no more brand new can buy it back at like 1/5 of its original value)
but from peer to peer, it's not regulated and the prices can be very or too high, it's not normal
the worst (maybe) is the online auctionnerz allow that sort of practice

High Reward
10,000 yen album. Extremely obscure.

Really don't mean to derail this, but... do you own that CD? I noticed you provided some scans. I ask because it looks really interesting, I freaking love the artwork on the front. I'm sure the artist is a popular one whose name gets around, but I'm not sure of who it is. Anyway, I was wondering if you've heard the music and could comment on how its like. I'm interested in it, not only because it's old and very obscure, but because it's an enclosure and I'm somewhat of a sucker for old enclosures due how uncommon they were - unlike now, where they're a damn plague =/

Yes I own it. I will make comments on it later in the album discussion thread (but yes I quite like the music on it).

How much is the USA version of Banjo Kazooie soundtrack worth?

http://vgmdb.net/album/4379

I watched it sell for $52 on Ebay. Should I have bid on it?

It's alot cheaper to get hold of the American / EU copies. Reason being the Japanese version has more tracks. $52 is an average kind of price for it, would have been worth a go in my opinion.

Neat trick...go on Amazon Japan, punch in a CD's catalog number (better than guessing between English or Japanese wording for the titles) and watch the fun in the form of bloated prices. Occasionally, I'll be pleasantly surprised (most old school Falcom albums can be had dirt cheap), but flipping through a number of albums reveals pretty insane prices.

Ore no Ryouri:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B00005GAL3/

nice (read: damn cool) soundtrack to a cooking game (only heard the PS1 XAs though), probably my most wanted cd currently. never seen it cheaper and have been following it for some months now on different places.

Elemental Gearbolt Original Sound Track & Drama seems like it should be in this thread. Not sure.

Uh, can't you buy that album for like thirty bucks on Amazon?

Also, all three copies were sold for sixty bucks, not $9999. They probably upped the price so it wouldn't sell while they had no stock.

I think you can remove Eretzvaju from the list, it can be bought for around 3000Y at different places now. Considering what I paid for it it's nice to see this finally drop in price. Take a look at amazon mp for example.

That's strange. Wonder why there are so many copies for those prices...

Well I edited the album out of the list.

Lovely to see, one of the best vgm soundtracks in existence is now more readily available for an affordable price. More albums need to follow. This whole price-insanity needs to stop. Availability is the only standard worth striving for.

If I remember right I bought Eretzvaju for $120 mint with obi from VGMworld about 5 years ago. It's a great ost. Suprised in the price drop, but hell thats awesome. Every VGM collector needs to own it. One of the best.

i paid considerably more, which i'm on one hand not proud of but on the other don't regret because i had different motives than merely owning it for myself. yes, people should buy it, NOW!

Blaze&Blade. Purrrty expensive. Currently you can find used copies at 20,000Y on amazon.co.jp, and there's also bidding prices at 15,000+Y on YHJ currently. I'm fairly certain I saw a buy-now auction at 50,000Y on YHJ a while ago though (sealed copy).

Yup, this album is quite expensive. However, I doubt this will go as high as 15,000 Yen when offered at a reasonable starting price. There wouldn't just be much demand I guess.
Another Label that qualifies for the term 'expensive' is Apollon with their APCG-40XX stem albums (later by Bandai). Those prices are just insane on almost every album

Example

Mmh. And there's a Blaze & Blade related album with that stem, too (what a coinkidink). I bet it's even more rare and/or expensive.

There can't even be a bidding war; it's only Buy It Now! Which makes the price even more humorous. $1,412.60 - because $1,400 even is just too little. That would be practically giving it away! The sixty cents are essential.

Haha yeah I realized that right after I hit 'post' :P And all that for a used item. Absurd price aside, this is the first time I saw that particular album surface on any online marketplace.

Quickly off-topic, just joined, but have been using the site for years now. Invaluable. Glad to part of the site officially now.

Anyways, with an informal introduction out of the way, I think this one can join the ranks of 'rare' CDs.

http://vgmdb.net/album/6409

Been looking for the Fire Emblem Sacred Stones Character CD for months, I kick myself for not finding the one that sold on eBay for like $40 dollars or so last November. I contacted a member who owns one seeing if he was willing to sell it, but no dice. Seriously, I can't find it anywhere else on the web. I can imagine if one pops up it would probably have a 300 dollar price tag minimum.
