David Matthews answered an email I had about musician credits (since they weren't listed in the book). He was nice enough to reply to the best of his knowledge about musicians used during the recording.

Drums: Alan Schwartzberg
Philharmonic: Fred Griffen, Phil Meyers (French Horn)
Trombones: Jim Pugh, Keith O'Quinn, Larry Farrell and Dave Taylor.
Concert Master of the String Section: David Nadien.
Cello: Jesse Levy
String Section Bass: John Beale, Homer Mensch.
Trumpets: Jon Faddis, Lew Soloff
Sax: George Young
