I could not find explicit confirmation of birth, but after an exhaustive search, it seems exceedingly unlikely that he was not born in Sweden.

I don't disagree with any of that and, I agree, it is exceedingly likely he was born in Sweden. However, the field is for Birthplace rather than Nationality. Unless an artist has their birthplace stated we leave that field blank as it's entirely possible to be born in one country and raised from an early age in another.
