Re: Revoc's original album additions (mostly M's Art), I went through them all and made some fixes.

Most of the album covers weren't labeled, and Furukawa was listed as arranger on all of them despite the albums being original compositions. I believe we designate "arranger" only in the context of remixing or rearranging a previously existing piece of music, so I struck that credit out for each album.

A few of the albums (e.g. Best of...) mentioned remixes in the notes, so I wasn't sure if arranger credits were justified, and did no artist associations as a result.

I'm inferring from the notes in each album that these are mostly digital releases only, but I didn't change the media type from CD to Digital Release since I can't verify that info myself. If someone could look through all of those Works albums and make that change, if correct, as well as verify the prices here, I'd appreciate it.

I hope they are CDs, as 4000 yen seems extremely high for a 6-track digital download.

That site lists Motoaki Furukawa as Composer & Arranger on most of the albums. It seems that this is a pretty common occurrence for original works (as opposed to arranged), and we've tended to follow this convention here on a lot of the game albums.

Thanks for the lookout! Everything regarding that is restored, plus associated as well.

Indeed, hopefully someone'll confirm that soon.

So, Liontamer and Secret Squirrel, Departure, Dynamic Trail, Go for a Drivin', Happiness of the Rainy Days, Healing Guitar, Love Romancer, Santa Who Dreams and Traditional Shooting albums are digital releases available in iTunes Store, but all of them can be ordered too by the M’s Art website by 4000 yen, like the others albums.

By the way, if someone could translate the name of 復活!SLサウンド album it would be cool.

Motoaki Furukawa's GE-ON-DAN profile says he born in 1963, but the Sound Locomotive booklet (thanks txapajc for the scans) says 1962.

I fixed it on Wiki, but I notice that the November date comes from a SEMO interview, so Chris might have to weigh in on this.

I've noticed a few discrepancies between information on GE-ON-DAN profiles and elsewhere. Besides birthdates, there's also birthplaces (Akira Yamaoka born in Tokyo or Niigata) and even names (Hiroshi Taniguchi vs. Hirofumi Taniguchi).

Just a quick question. ANyone know why his original albums are so expensive? I can't imagine anyone buying them for that much, unless they are diehard Furukawa fans.

I noticed that the credits for the arcade version of Sunset Riders has "M. Furukawa (this guy right here, I'm guessing)" as "music," but the Super NES staff list doesn't mention music at all, but instead "N[aohisa, we imagine] Morota'" for "sound program." Should I continue assuming Morota primarily handled the spc production or something in that vein?

Motoaki Furukawa is going to be the lead composer for this very promising Kickstarter project, which oozes konamism and snatcherism from all of its pores. Please pledge on this guys!

The page on Amazon Japan says it only has five tracks and 20 minutes of music. Kind of expensive for just that.

Tracklist:
・ギタドラ「SOME HARD REACTIONS」
・サンセットライダーズ「サンセット牧場の決闘」
・F1SPIRIT「Hot Summer Riding」
・XEXEX「Breeze」
・グラディウス2メドレー(MSX版)

Can anyone confirm beyond a doubt that Furukawa composed music for the original Metal Gear (MSX2)?

And to answer this:

It's because those expensively-priced albums are aimed at professionals who wanrt to use the recordings for their business stuff (commercials, games, etc.). This is what his bio say here:
http://www.vgmonline.net/motoakifurukawa/

Which means, if you own the CD, you can reuse all the tracks for commercial purposes without paying anything. Makes 4,000Y a pretty good deal
